Not the best port to stop at. Largely commercialized. It was easy coming and going off the ship.

I like concept behind the layout of the port. I use the port to enter the Bahamas and exit the Bahamas and it was fast and hassle-free there. Nice quiet environment with a craft Market right there on the port. Easy to get a taxi at the front or for your car to be drop off if you renting one.

This port is has a very industrial look. You have to walk quite a ways to get from the pier to the people but they do make taxis and shuttles available. The ladies there that have individual stalls are very aggressive in trying to attract your business. Understanding it is their livelihood in they have to feed their families But my are they aggressive.
After we got through the gate and out into town it was pretty much like any other town. The locals are friendlyAnd some of the shops are very nice but a lot of them have a pitch person outside the door to try to lure you in. And they also can be quite aggressive and very crafty and witty.

This is a nice little spot. Once you get off a ship you are greeted by a nice little shopping district with a few food options. Other than that there isn't much else there. It is however the gateway to paradise. We took a taxi to Grand Lucayan ($5 each way, per person) and got a day pass to Grand Lucayan. It was nice to use their facilities for the day before heading back on board.

Convenient to debark as you don't have to go through the terminal gate or be taken ashore by a tender. Though there are no notable tourist attractions within a walking distance, a small marketplace with variety of merchandise and souvenirs is just Ok to spend a few hours - cruise ships do not stay in this port for long, so this cruise stopover is more like an opportunity to feel the firm soil under your feet and spend some time shopping around.

Kiosks for souvenir shopping -- Each booth was basically the same exact items No diversity in what is offered. Nice music at the Gazebo. Senor Frogs could consider turning down the level of music.

Nothing to see or do here. No tourist dollars spent here to attract more visitors. Really sad and disappointing. Old dilapidated buildings and must take a long expemsive cab ride to get to a beach access that you have to pay to enjoy. Will not book a futire cruise that has this as a port of a call.

The worst place to visit in the Bahamas. There is a beautiful reef but it's a 25 minute bus ride on a very sketchy bus. Skip this port if you can.

The straw market here can be cheaper than Nassau depending on what you want. There usually good music and you've got to take a look at the restaurants too. There are some great things here! Usually we stay on the ship in Freeport but this is definitely worth an hour or so of walking around especially if you didn't book any excursions.

This is an industrial port and is not walking distance from the city so there's not a while lot going on, at least in comparison to Nassau or even other smaller ports like Grand Turk or Amber Cove. However as I said definitely get off the ship and walk around!

I'm not a big fan of the Freeport Cruise Port. Usually too many big ships which creates big lines getting back in. Additionally, it's not very clean. I usually stay on the ship in Freeport. Not much to see except Senior Frog or other bars.

You can at least walk off the ship and find some shops and places to eat now it's improved since the last time I was there but it's still passed that very industrial until you get into town

Terrible island. It's like pulling into a UPS Depot. All industrial. No joke, I woke up from my sleep and lookee out the window and said is the captain drunk and land us at the wrong place. Even if you go deep into this 99 mile island. There is nothing at all. Very sad. It's safe for the most part. People are nice and respectful. But no place I'd ever go back to.

I took a downtown, city and brewery tour it was awesome. The beer we got to try is only sold in the Bahamas. I especially liked the pink beer

This was the one day we did not do an excursion. If you go to freeport, be prepared to be bored. Once you look at a few tourist stores then there is nothing more to do. We did go to the Frog bar and there was live fun there but we were so hung over we did not partake in the festivities.

Other than shopping that is not too much to do right at the Port but you can take the taxi into town which we did not. It was not very crowded

Its not a very pretty port. Its several miles deep into an industrial park and is ment for cargo ships/oil tankers You have to take a taxi to get anywhere you would want to be in Freeport. Good news is carnival is making a new port on a differwnt part of the island.

Few small ships near the port. Not the biggest tourist place in the Bahamas. Would recommend booking an excursion in order to get a history of this island, which is pretty interesting. Had we not gone on an excursion we would have missed the history lesson.

Taxi drivers ruined my wife and my vacation. If you wanna go somewhere, you need 9 or so people going there. If you don't have 9, you'll wait in the sun until you do or you simply won't go there. That's it. Didn't get to go where my wife and I wanted and waited half an hour to go where everyone else was going due to the drivers' waiting game they play until their rotting vans are full. It's hardly worth it to leave the ship in Freeport. The island is so torn apart and the local salesmen are so pushy it makes it a drag to be out. Save your energy for Nassau where there's much better to see and do. Check out Blue Lagoon and you won't regret it.

I feel for this place, I really do. It was hit hard by the hurricane and this town is a ghost town. It was so sad to see those huge hotels abandoned. The "it" spot market is one big ghost town. Destroyed trees and homes. Concrete is lifted and cracked, nobody walks on them anymore. You see once was beautiful fountains that don't work anymore. The locals try to keep you entertained as much as they can. The Lucaya Market is small and a little variety of restaurants. The woman sort of hound you in the souvenir shops, so you may be there for awhile.

It was not that great. I took a van to a beach and it was petty ran down. All off us then walked to the one beside it called "paradise" that one was a lot better. I would go somewhere else if you could.

Unlike some ports, it is very quick to get off the boat and into the city. The shops and workers aren't nearly as aggressive as in Nassau. The only downside is that it is a bit far from the main part of Freeport, so ground transportation is a necessity, but easily accessible.
