I stayed for 1 night during a Rock in Rio weekend, everything was really expensive in this region on these dates. I stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm, with beds smaller than I expected, you have to bring your own lock for the locker that is really small as well.
Actually I didn't even sleep that much in the hostel because I came back really late from Rock in Rio. When I came back somebody had stolen my pillow and I had to wait for the staff to find another one for me. The next day I was late for some minutes for the check out, however I felt like I was being kicked out from the hostel. I did the check out (like 10 min late) and I wanted to take a shower in the common bathrooms and the staff lady was "nice" to me letting me take a quick bath, even after already checking out the room. I doubt I was going to disturb the guests, because a lot of the bathrooms were free. After that, they didn't even let me leave my backpack there and go for a walk even though it was just going to be for 1 hour-ish. I just wanted to enjoy a little bit the city while I waited for my bus back to São Paulo. The lady threatened me to charge me an extra fee just for letting my backpack at the hostel after doing the check out. The hostel is just looking to extract money from tourists, or at least, that was the impression I had. Stefany was really nice with me, but the other lady I felt like she was kicking me out from the hostel. I think for the price paid you can get something better in Rio's south zone. I definitely do not recommend it.response / report this review -

Great place filled by positive energy. I got free drink and free map on check in. Awesone safe location, cheap price, fun parties, strong caipirinhas and tasty breakfast! :)

Stayed here for 1 night only of my original 8 night planned stay. Left because lack of atmosphere and found much better value for money elsewhere during Carnaval

Staff was super helpful with tips on what to do and will help you book tours with suggestions on where to go and how to get there. Super friendly atmosphere with travellers from everywhere. Mostly a younger crowd and can get loud in the evening. They have a great common area with a bar at night. Good location and walking distance to Copacabana Beach. Walked to Ipenema beach but it's quite far. Not many bathrooms, and they are all singles.
Definitely recommend staying here though.response / report this review -

Staff is very friendly ans helpful. Rooms are simple and confortable, but could use some improvement on the confort of beds and overall lockers. Breakfast is simple,but good. Its close to comerce but not só much tô the Beach. Overall a Good hostel.

It was perfect. Everything I hoped for in a hostel. They had a bar, several sitting areas,a bed of course, information of local events, and yummy breakfast. The best part is it's a short walk to the beach. I will never forget the place and the people I've met while i was there!
