I really enjoyed our stay at st Ivan rilski. Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, underground parking. Our studio was well equipped and large with a nice balcony. My only complaints were the first night they did not have the heat on so it was cold, and the room cleaning was a bit inconsistent/sloppy

Worst hotel ever. We book for a studio 30m2 and got the smallest room in the hotel, no bathtub, no balcony. The description on booking is not accurate at all. Overcharded, not worth for the money!

It's a lovely place, clean, very nice and helpful staff and a very nice breakfast. The only drawback is that we were there in August and the room was extremly hot as hotel does not have AC

The staff are nice, the place is beautiful. The sheets and towels have spots on them, yuck! It is a kilometer walk to town or more, with no shuttle, but they offer bicycle rentals. The views are spectacular, but the mountain and ski lift are far. The breakfast food is the same every day. It's ok. Lunch and dinner food is usually ok. Some really tastey, some not so much. If the sheets and towels were washed in bleach and the food were a little better, this would be 4 or 5 stars. It's nice, but could be fantastic with minimal effort.

Whilst I have given this hotel a 4 star that's be sure my accommodation was excellent,I had a studio which was very spacious, well appointed, comfortable and with everything I'd need for self catering.i had maid service who were excellent,good views of the mountain tops and quiet until the noisy neighbours moved inNo respect for others at midnight who maybe sleeping!
My negatives on this place are as follows:
Kids run riot in the bar ,they're noisy and disrespectful..The staff didn't approach the parents so if you were child free tough,you had to suffer other people's kids.
Same in the pool,no rules adhered to and kids allowed to run around and go into hot tub,not a pleasant experience.
Only 1 pool table which is now out of order and nothing else for teenagers to enjoy of an evening .
Spa staff very friendly but receptionist (1 1 in particular) had a face that would stop time followed by a personality that matched.
The eastern Europeans visiting are rude and loud with little or no manners .
Skiing is really good idea and if you look about you can get really good deals on rentals and taxis up to the slopes rather than paying crazy money at the gondola for rentals and ski lift passes. I recommend Boris ski rentals across the road from the Kempinski hotel,his English is very good and he's very friendly ,I'll definitely be using his services again upon my return .
Overall if I stayed away from the hotel lounge and the obnoxious Russians etc this is a nice warm clean hotel to stay at .response / report this review -
