Unique place in Ghent, great atmosphere, the building is exceptional. The staff was good and welcoming. Food was good and of quality and the only reason for the 3 stars is the price/quantity ratio. The butcher's piece for 27.5 euros was in fact 4 little slices of meat, 4/5 tiny pieces of pumpkin, some salad that was clearly lacking imagination. Only the small portion of mash potato made sense. When I hear butcher's piece I'm expecting a meat dish. 95euros for two mains, 6 oysters to share and 4 glasses of wine felt a bit much if you re still hungry, plus they don't serve tap water.
Well this place is off the charts. Everything was fantastic. Possibly the best restaurant I have ever been.
Just had a fantastic meal there. We managed to fit in after 9.00 without a booking ( it is booked weeks in advance) and enjoyed our meal and drinks very much, especially when our wine costs were deducted from the bill as they were late in arriving to us. The service and atmoshere were great and a night to remember.
Thanks staff at Pakhuis
Beautifully furnished. One of the most well decorated restaurant in Belgium. Tasty food with good service. Thumbs up
The restaurant has a very unique location between industrial and refined. It gave me the impression of being in the titanic somehow. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the grilled lobster and it did not dissapoint us. The shrimps krokets were also amaizing. Dessert was good although overpriced i must say. It gets very crowdy after 20 and the service is bit slow. They wpuld defi itely need so.e more waiters.
This restaurant is very unique. The interior design is stunning. You can have a drink outside first and have your dinner inside later. Great choice of interesting drinks. The menu is good, you have got a lot of dishes to choose from. The summer plateau was great! The oysters were really good. Must try. The service was very kind and are professional.
This is by far the best meal we had in Gent, and possibly one of the best meals we had in our entire two weeks in Europe. We both ordered the exquisite North Sea fish that was on special that night, and it didn't disappoint. We each had a couple of beers, and then shared the Trio van Chocolade. I'm not normally a dessert person, but wow was it good! It was a bit more expensive than some of our other dinners out, but well worth it. The service was quite friendly, if a bit slow at times. The outdoor dining area is absolutely beautiful, but the indoors is also lovely. Definitely one of the more memorable meals we've had while traveling, and I highly recommend Pakhuis as a treat while you're in Gent!
Beautiful restaurant with fun decor - the lobster bisque is delicious. The service was super slow - one hour for two appetizers - but service is bad all over Belgium so it's fairly normal.
Good, wish they had more meat selection for my partner. Good wine list, enjoyed that.
Nice location, average food
The location is really great and a must see as a tourist. The food is ok, but not more. It's quite pricey and for that price you can eat much better in Ghent
Great food, great staff, great location
The place has a great factory + glasshouse ambience. Perfect setting for a nice dinner or lunch. Food is good and the entrance looks charmingly 19th century.
We came in and were warmly welcomed by the host.
It was quite noisy but we were seated behind the bar which was a nice, quieter area.
Once seated we got some olives and ordered drinks.
We did not take a starter.
The mains didn't take long, all though it was very busy. We had steak tartare and baked ham with mustard sauce. Both nothing special but very tasty.
The desserts were very good and quite cheap considering the portions.
It was my fathers birthday and the waiter had put some fireworks on his dessert which was nice.
Friendly, casual but professional staff. Nice setting and good food.
Will go back and would recommend.
