What can I say, it's just old! Breakfast is certainly not worth the cost so would recommend sleeping elsewhere.

By a good chance, the room I stayed in for one night on 11.10.2017 was a renewed one. Although it lacks A/C and refrigerator, the cleanliness of the spacy room, bathroom and the linen was good. I also satisfied with the hotels' location and -to my good chance- helpful staff on duty to satisfy my needs of dining and shopping.
On the other hand, the building clearly shows its age and inevitably needs to be renovated fully.
* The location of the hotel in the Uccle/Ukkel district is very central. Bus and tram stops are just in a walking distance. There are also some shops for eating and shopping nearby.
* If you plan to stay in this hotel, make sure that you'll be given a renovated room from the upper flats facing to the front.
* The lack of the A/C and refrigerator is a serious weakness of the hotel. Keep this issue in mind if you plan to stay there in hot seasons.
* The sliding windows that opens to the common balconies are actually out of date and totally unsafe. Also common balconies are not good for privacy as well.response / report this review -

The rooms are of general standard and quite nice. The restaurent is good - I would visit the restaurent even if I was not a guest at the hotel.

Planning to visit Brussels, BW county House is a great place to stay. 20 minutes from Central connected by Route 4 a frequent service, BW CH offers value for money. Friendly staff and service, Good sized rooms will come as a pleasant surprise, Tasty food at the restaurant and the breakfast spread is typically European and is more than adequate for the big eater as well.
The big Surprise is the Hotel opens into a spacious interior which is no compare to the entry point.response / report this review -

Firstly, the parking situation was horrendous. After a 7 hour drive from Switzerland I was looking forward to dumping the car, checking in and going out into Brussels. The garage is an underground affair with very few spaces, all shoehorned into very awkward spaces. Once I'd realised that it was full, trying to reverse back out, through the labyrinth was fraught with misery. After that, I had to spend 40m driving around looking for street parking. Anyway, after a pleasant check-in process, the room is nothing about which to write home. Bed was OK, but no AC working in the room and small bathroom.
Breakfast was a small offering with a few cereals and pastries. Not great, but did the job. Don't expect it to be a Hilton style breakfast.
On balance, I will be looking to stay at other hotels in the future.response / report this review -

Don't let the price deceive you - you pay mostly for the location, which was the sole reason I decided to stay at the hotel.
The room itself was tiny. We got a smoking room by default, but smoking inside is a sin - you would suffocate in the fumes long before you finish. There's no way to regulate the inside temperature besides using the heavy sliding door opening up to a balcony shared between at least 4 other rooms. There's even a warning on that door about using it to air overnight - they had to install a bolt in the door, even though even the smallest opening is large enough for anyone to crawl in and take whatever they want. Apparently openable windows weren't invented back when this place was built.
The breakfast has decent hours (6:30 to 10:00), however if you have to be someplace at seven o'clock, you might be out of luck. That is to say, maybe missing out on the breakfast wouldn't be a bad idea - I am quite sure whatever they took the meat from died of old age. Even in the early morning, minutes after the breakfast location is open, most of the food is already missing.
The restaurant inside the hotel, however, provides far superior food, and while the selection might leave us wishing for the better, the prices aren't that bad, and certain dishes taste really good while having enough on the plate for a grown man to be fully satisfied.
They "have" free Wi-Fi, provided by a single dated ZyXEL on every floor. I wasn't able to connect to it, although the network occasionally appeared in the available network list, the signal was too weak to connect. This was made better by a truly Orwellian log-in system where you need a username and a password for each device you have.
There were also problems with paying on check-in, as the clerk accidentally billed us only for one night, and had to go through an annulation process to prevent double-billing. Although it's supposed to be a Belgian hotel not belonging to either Wallonia or Flanders, they weren't able to provide service in Dutch, so I had to resort to English (luckily, my girfriend did speak French).
They also only give one key per room, which can be inconvenient at times if two persons stay in the room and need to come back at different times. There seems to be no way to specify whether you want a double bed or two single beds, luckily, we got a double as we wanted.
Overall: Location and restaurant food are the only plus points.response / report this review
