Don't be fooled by the name holiday inn. Its only in name. The room is clean nothing spectacular but everything else they offer is extremely wonderful. The best part of the beach on the entire island, the pools the, 5 star dining, the service and the drinks. Go all inclusive it even pleased this New Yorker with high standards. You won't be disappointed I promise!
My family stayed at the Holiday Inn in Aruba in December and loved it!
The hotel staff were incredible. The GM Kevin and his assistant Harmen were professional, and courteous and helped us make our family vacation memorable. Their attention to detail was amazing. Everyone made sure our stay was an amazing one and we couldn’t be more grateful.
The food was amazing, the pool was enjoyed by our kids everyday! The grounds are beautifully kept and every one made you feel so welcome.
We would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn to everyone.
We can’t wait to go back!!
Gorgeous, large, and eventful hotel! With three segments of room buildings, pools in-between (including a children-only pool), and a vast amount of beach space, you have a wide variety of entertainment around you. The hotel schedules events and games, including BINGO, where you can win small prizes. The beach umbrellas are free to rent, but are on a first-come first serve basis required to be claimed the previous day. Towels are located beachfront providing you with the convenience of packing less. The rooms are great, especially considering you'll be spending most of your time outside of the room. Complete with bars and restaurant options that are located beachfront. In addition, you're located within walking distance to Starbucks, the movie theatre, and other shoppes and local eateries. The staff is friendly and helpful, the views are relaxing, and the weather is consistently perfect within the 80s (few chances of rain).
TIP: To prevent sunburning on day 1, pack/purchase SPF50 as your standard.
The holiday inn is located by the lovely shores of Aruba.
The amenities are good and the rooms are well maintained.
Tour guides and beach activity desk is available at the reception.
Must do activities in Aruba includes a pleasant swim in shallow waters, sunset cruise ,snorkelling ,scuba diving and also submarine ride.
The pricing for these activities are not expensive though.
I had enjoyed snorkelling ,my first of the kind , adequately helped by professional support.
Cab facility is available at the entrance.
The evening walks is sufficient for enthralling experiences .
Really enjoyed my stay for a couple of days at Aruba in 2016.
Other than check is a bit slow for my good taste, this hotel offers the best of both worlds when it comes to having the pool and the beach right there next to you with a lovely bar right in between these 2. Breakfast is awesome, it offers great variety to choose from. If you're big on casino, in my opinion the casino inside offers an okay casino, there are some better outside the property. The rooms are nice, clean, and very comfortable. No complaints about that whatsoever. As far as the staff everyone is very friendly and helpful, specially Kim who helped us a lot which we appreciate it.
Not Impressed at all. Arrived and our ocean front rooms were, not available, which we reserved 8 months ago. The manager said she would comp us two nights, but I had to come back to see her about the bill.
I received a text alert, indicating that they have over-charged me.
The hotel is old and the place is noisy at night when the bar closes.
I would recommend based on my initial experience, to consider another hotel/motel.
Hopefully, not all the hotels operate in this manner.
Update - Inspect your charges closely. Ensure you leave plenty of time before heading to the airport to review your bill. As mentioned earlier, we were to have 2 nights complimentary due to the foul up with our ocean front rooms that were reserved, but unavailable upon check-in. They were not reflected on our bill. In addition, the room charges were for an ocean front room, not the standard room.
Also, be advised the clerk cannot make any decisions, they have to refer to managers in the back, plus they have multiple managers. Should you at any time have an issue and speak with the front desk, ensure you get their name and write down any quotes or decisions agreed upon.
On the positive side, the front desk clerks were very friendly. They will work with you, but leave yourself plenty of time and be patient.
We were eventually able to resolve the issue, but it took 45 minutes to an hour to resolve. Due to this, I have revised my rating to 2 stars.
A very nice hotel/resort located on Aruba's Palm Beach area. The hotel has multiple restaurants on property that serve different times and types of food. They have multiple pools and have a large area of beachfront that has mini Tiki huts with chairs for guests to use. It has a casino with slots, card games and a roulette table as well as a Texas hold-em table . The casino has complimentary drinks while you are playing. The rooms are clean and fresh but a little dated. The hotel is located walking distance from many restaurants and is across the street from Palm Beach Mall, which has shopping and eating establishments to satisfy everyone. Everything is expensive in Aruba but this hotel was a good value and was in a great part of the island. I would return here when we return to Aruba.
Great family hotel and a great place to organize events. Nice pool and beach area. Food is good and the service is good and friendly. Their casino seems a little dated ( I am not a casino person) but they have their clients who like it. They also have some nice shops with friendly personnel.
Like the hotel but it offers few, if any, amenities. You are even limited on the number of beach towels you can receive per day. However, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would probably stay again, especially if $$ is a consideration.
There's no sales pressure any where. They don't care if you go to their restaurant or another's. Walk into any resort and they treat you like you are staying there. Awesome food & weather. Casinos need a little help. But, oh well . Sailing, seg way, sea bob all fun.
Excellent employees that give you service with a smile. 3 pools,Gym, spa, love sitting at the pool be able to see the beach too. John the Bell man is friendly love when he greets us when we arrive. Hugo makes our trip each time he give service like no one else. He makes us feel special.
Second time in Holiday Inn, second disappoitment. As for Amenities, they have a lot to offer and they keep it clean. Everything around the hotel is very well maintained and very beautiful. Unfortunately I cannot say that about the rooms. Although they were cleaned every day, It's just that furniture is old, carpet even older and vacuuming cannot do the job. The whole time we were there there was an awful smell in the room. Mould was everywhere, behind the bed, behind chairs, in the cornersAlthough we were in the See Tower where the rooms were supposed to be renovated; except that the bed was new and some deko, I did not see a lot of renovation. I know that when on vacation you do not get to stay a lot in the room but cleanliness comes first for me!
Staff was very friendly!
It's a lovely place. A convenience store inside. Excellent service, nice people and clean. Nearly at the front you have 2 nieces mall (walk distance).
The pools are excellent. A very comfy place.
Internet free at the lobby.
The beach is excellent.
You can walk and visit all the resorts throughout the beach.
Pros-
Room clean, cleaning people prompt. Family friendly.
Cons- billing-beware they charge you more than you agree to and don't tell you about their holding fees when you check in, even if you flat out ask. No fees they put on your credit card reflect the receipts they give you. From personal experience, this hotel is very difficult to get ahold of when you get back to the states. Took me 2 days, a few phone calls, an email and calling corporate customer service to have this Aruba resort call me back. Wasn't until after 9pm at night that they did. Problem still not expedited to be fixed by this resort directly, had to call corporate customer service again to have the problem fixed in a timely manner. Waiting to see results from this.
Front desk staff are slow. Took us 40 mins to check in with only a few people in front of us.
Elevators are slow and only worked 50% of the time we were there. Thankfully only on the 3rd floor, but had to drag our suitcases down the stairs on the day of check out, due to no elevators usable.
If breakfast is included in your stay don't expect anyone to explain that process to you. They have you sign a receipt with your "free" breakfast total "49.99" for 2 people, each day, and the restaurant charges your room until the front desk of the resort sees the charges and have to take them back off after they research if you have breakfast included. Freaked us out the first day signing a $50 check and the waitress couldn't explain it to us when asked. Signed the bill and walked to the front desk for clarification.
Maintenance is slow. Came back to our room after breakfast on day two of our stay and the batteries in our room lock died so we couldn't get into our room. Took over a half hour of our morning waiting outside the room for someone to arrive and change 4 batteries in the lock (30 second fix) but our morning was delayed at this point.
This hotel is confusing, It's confusing to even sit down at breakfast. No "please wait to be seated" or "seat yourself" sign. You just wait at the door and hope a waiter sees you when they walk by.
Basic con of this resort is that no one explains anything to you. Even if you ask. Its full of surprises. Watch your credit card and keep all your receipts.
Came here for the day with family (4+2). Booked one room originally thinking I will only be here for 3 hours and leave with cruise. I called in and asked the front desk if that is OK. Both the front desk and reservation say this should be fine. Upon checking in, was informed that I need to book two rooms for the kids to use the facility as well. I made the additional reservation on the spot not wanting to argue. Well, you got the one extra night out of me this time but you lost a customer forever.
Holiday Inn Aruba is definitely the place to stay. Not only are the staff very freindly, but they are always willing to serve or help you. The rooms were very well taken care of each day and overall very very nice. We did have one problem with our key card to get in, but the battery was changed and it was fixed immediately. The food and drinks are wonderful and I couldn't have been more happy with my stay.
Perfect location! I did my research prior to taking our trip and I'm so glad we stayed here. Location was perfect and the price was just right. Friendly personnel. Walking steps to the beach and just crossing street to get to shopping center and a strip of delicious restaurants. Right out also public transportation that just with a few dollar takes you to their downtown for souvenir shopping and more. No need to rent a car. Any tours come and pick up here.
If you're planning on going to Aruba and you'd like to spend less on a hotel and more on the activities and food, this is the hotel for you. My husband and I have been to Aruba 3 times over the past 6 years and have stayed at this hotel twice. I will say, we liked it better the first time we stayed a little more than the second. Because we saved money due to it being less expensive than the other high rise hotels, I think for our next trip we will be willing to spend a little more and stay at the Hyatt for the room quality. Please take note that the newer and updated wing of this hotel is where you should request or book your stay. It's a building over from the lobby and is much nicer and obviously more updated than the building attached to the lobby. The older rooms just aren't very nice at all. The hotel staff is lovely, always attentive with cleaning your rooms and greeting you. The grounds are beautiful, well-kept and, in my opinion, the best beach access for Palm Beach. The location could not be better. It's in the middle of Palm Beach and is across the street from the mall/hacienda and is within walking distance to many different restaurants and bars. Best option for a hotel when you're looking to save money, without a doubt.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Holiday Inn in Aruba and it was just AMAZING. We had over 200 guest. We searched several resorts and decided to have our celebration at the Holiday Inn because of the location of the beach, rooms, restaurants, casino. The hospitality we received just visiting the property was very inviting. It is located in a great shopping area and other casinos are in the area. We watched a smaller wedding take place at sunset and words could not explain the joy we felt seeing that bride and groom. The managers from all the hotel departments I rate a 10+. My whole group is looking forward to returning. Much Love and God Bless All at the Holiday Inn in Aruba😘. The Good Family
Great hotel, friendly staff, excellent location! This is a great value for Aruba vacation. The beach is beautiful and the pools are too. Very kid friendly as well. An easy walk to the busy area of Aruba. Many many bars and restaurants just a walk away in both directions. This is Holiday Inn t it's best!!
Very nice hotel. Much better than one might expect from a Holiday Inn. The property is located at the northern end of the beach, but is still walking distance from the main area for restaurants, shopping and casino. The bus also stops right in front of the hotel. The beach is very nice, as are the pools. The prices are reasonable and the staff was very good. Certainly not one of the fancier hotels in Arubabut it is a great value.
This is a fantastic hotel to go to with kids. The 2 pools are extremely toddler friendly - our 110 cm boy could play everywhere without us having to fear he could drown.
The beach is beautiful and there are plenty or restaurants in the area to enjoy.
Other small things that make this hotel so nice:
A little coffee machine in the room
Free chilled water in the hallway
Mostly very friendly staff
The only negative thing I can say is that there are not enough umbrella's and beds at the pool, meaning you have to get up very early to "reserve" one.
Heaven on earth. Clean accommodations. Beautiful white sand beach. Great drinks and food. Right in the middle of the action. Only down side is it was not all inclusive
Excellent location for all beach activities and the staff was super friendly! The food was delicious and the 2 for 1 drinks @ the Ocean Side Bar were tasty, ask for Louise she's the best! Can't wait to return!
This hotel is located in the perfect spot, close to bars, restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is very simple but so clean and well kept. The food is absolutely incredible. We did all inclusive for 7 days and ate at the restaurants every single day/night and were so impressed by the quality of the food from fish to steak to make your own pizzas! I cannot stress enough how amazing it was. We spent every day at the beach which is by far the nicest and biggest out of all the resort beach fronts we saw. Overall amazing experience at the Holiday Inn and if we go back we will stay for even longer.
Unique for Holiday Inn set up style. Resort is perfectly well locating. A walking distance to restaurants and activities. Nice rooms and not that bad service. The area they need to pay attention to is a beach. It does need a clean up on daily basis. Several times they were running out of towels at end of the day.
In evening hours for last two days at the main entrance no one could be found to help and catch a taxi if needed. Actually, no one be found at all near the entrance if help required.
