I had a great experience with d'Italia and the team. My dressmaker Vicky is wonderful and is incredibly talented. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of my wedding dress. I had my wedding rescheduled multiple times due to the pandemic and Vicky remained helpful, kind and accommodating throughout the whole process.

It was very hard. Alyssa was so supportive and encouraging. She helped with every question, worry and idea. d'Italia made my dream and vision a reality! They have the most beautiful fabrics, as well as friendly and knowledgeable service. They knew exactly what kind of fabric was required to make my dress elegant and stunning, and worked within my budgets. Many of my guests commented on how well made and perfectly fitted my dress was to my body shape. Now I just wish I was able to wear my dress over and over again!

from my first email enquiry to the end of my appointment as Mother of the bride my experience with D'talia has been very pleasant. Alyssa replied promptly and always so friendly and helpful. On the day of my appointment Pala who consulted with me was so helpful, quickly working out my tastes and showing me beautiful fabrics. She would then sketch how the fabric would look on the body on the pattern I had chosen so I could visualise how it. I am so excited to be able to have exquisite Italian fabric sourced from Italy that no one else will have at my daughters wedding.

The staff here were so lovely and helpful when I came in to see if they could help create my dream/unique wedding outfit (gold pants and 80s style silk blouse). They had exactly the materials I wanted, and were very quickly able to scope out what would be required and organise it all!! A really pleasant and easy experience.

I just wanted to say that I had such a wonderful experience with D’Italia. The whole process was exceptional. I found it quite overwhelming when searching for a wedding dress in stores and just couldn’t find what I was after and in the price range I was willing to spend. I finally stumbled across D’Italia online and booked in an appointment that same day. I left that appointment with my dress all sorted. I felt so relieved, content and happy with the whole process. The girls at D’Italia we’re so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable in what materials and styles would work within my design. My beautiful dress maker Dragana was so amazing. I was absolutely blown away with the end result and just couldn’t be happier. Thank you to the whole team at D’Italia.

After having to postpone our big Hindu ceremony 3 times, my partner and I made the last minute decision to just get married in a perfectly intimate civil ceremony. I emailed the team at D'Italia with my request and they got back to me within hours. Despite being so busy they squeezed me in and I had an appointment with them the next day to talk budget, design and fabric. I was then immediately set up with a couturist, Judith Penak. Judith arranged for weekly trials to ensure the dress was exactly what I wanted and everything fit perfectly. Within 3.5 weeks I had a beautiful custom made dress! The entire team was just so response to my requests and time efficient. I am still in awe of how quickly it all came together. I cannot recommend D'Italia and Judith enough.

Experience in one word - Awesome !! Had such a fantastic experience at D'italia. Shuchi was so friendly and helpful she knew exactly what would work for me and helped me through the design process to create a sublime one of a kind dream dress. D'italia and Shuchi really went out of their way to help me, can't praise them enough. I wish them all the success XO. To all the fashionistas out there - Drop everything and visit D'italia now!!

*warning - very long post*
After reading numerous positive reviews I decided to go for a consultation with D'italia. The woman assisting me was lovely and informative at first but when I showed some hesitation with going ahead with the purchase she became extremely pushy. When I asked to return the following day with my mum so that I could have another opinion before placing an order she told me that they didn't have another appointment for a while and if I didn't make a decision and pay the full amount there and then my order wouldn't arrive on time. So $3600 later on the very same day, my fabric was ordered (yes, $3600 for fabric alone, not beaded or embellished either). 6 weeks later I received a phone call from ditalia informing me that my choice of lace had been discontinued and that I would need to come in to select a new one. I was confused because when I made my initial order I was told I was "almost out of time" but 6 weeks later when they wanted me to order a different fabric they assured me that there would be plenty of time. D'italia have no hesitation with lying if it means they'll keep/gain a new customer. My options of their extremely over priced range was limited and I honestly was not in love with my second choice but by this point I had 7 months until my wedding (the fabric alone would take 4 months to arrive) so I kind of just had to roll with it. I don't say "overpriced" lightly - I later found the same/similar and infinitely more beautiful fabrics at other fabric stores in Melbourne at a fraction of the cost. My new fabric choice turned out to be a little cheaper and I was entitled to a refund of $568. I made a note of the amount on my phone and in my planner just to be sure. The manager wasn't in when I went and she needed to approve the refund so I was told she would call me the following day. She did call but my refund amount had miraculously been changed from $568 to $544. By this point I was infuriated and wanted nothing more to do with D'italia so I just accepted it. I didn't understand how I had such a terrible experience with a company that had almost perfect ratings and rave reviews. My fiancé did some research and found that D'italia had a competition running where the prize was that one of the brides who left positive feedback would be selected and she'd receive her gown free of cost. After that, everything made a lot more sense

Going with D'italia for your wedding gown is just not worth the stress. Three months to my wedding my fabric still hadn’t arrived so you can imagine the panic I was experiencing. What was meant to be an exciting stress-free process turned out to be the exact opposite. In the end I wore a gown that I barely liked and definitely didn’t love. To make matters worse the dress fit like a glove the morning of but somehow stretched a few hours into the day and sat loosely on my arms, waist and hips. I won’t blame anyone for that but it would’ve been nice if the sales person or even the seamstress would have told me the nature of the fabric. So to wrap it up, I wouldn’t recommend D’italia if my life depended on it. I can guarantee you can find the exact same fabrics elsewhere for a quarter of the price.

My only disappointment with d'italia is that I can't rate them higher than 5 stars. I wanted a slightly unconventional wedding dress and was reccommended by a wedding dress shop to try d'italia. Suzanna was incredibly Helpful and patient with all of my questions. She talked me through fabric options for what felt like hours, and put me in contact with the incredible Tania Stokes who made my dream a reality. I never imagined the dress would turn out so beautifully. I'm still over the moon about it all a year later!

Last month, my daughter was on a layover in Vancouver on her way to her sister’s wedding in Melbourne and inadvertently left her bridesmaids dress on the plane. With only two days to go until the wedding, there was panic in the air.

After I talked on the phone with Susanna at D”Italia who spoke very professionally, but also was genuinely empathetic, I knew I was in the right hands. Within a few hours we were sorting through her incredible selection of fabrics to find a near perfect match - Susanna then sourced out a highly skilled dressmaker who she knew could pull off the seemingly impossible. That afternoon the measurements were taken and the next day was the unveiling; both my daughter and I couldn’t believe our eyes - side by side on a mannequin they looked identical!

When we arrived at the wedding for rehearsals the next day, everyone was completely oblivious to what had just taken place behind the scenes. The wedding and reception were absolutely fairy tale perfect, and only the next day did we tell people in the wedding party what had happened. We were all able to have a big laugh about the potential catastrophe that never materialized!

Thanks to Susanna at D’Italia for coordinating the wedding miracle of the century for us and for helping us out of what we thought was an insurmountable predicament. Your professionalism, thoughtfulness and extreme competence helped us to dodge a bullet, divert a total disaster, and have amazing memories for the rest of our lives.

I just wanted to say that i was so, so, so happy walking out of the shop today!! I have been searching for the perfect wedding dress, and could just not find one that i absolutely fell in love with; i was always picking out bits and pieces from several dresses and there was not one dress that i wouldn't change something. I googled 'wedding dress maker Melbourne' and D'italia came up in the search; so i thought why not! lets book appointment (even though i thought it would be out of my price range to get a dress individually made for myself). When I walked in Suzanna greeted my mother and i with a smile and i instantly felt looked after; Suzanna was very attentive and polite, but to the point when you needed her to be. She was very professional and obviously knew what she was talking about; you could tell that she had great knowledge and experience within the dress making industry. We decided on fabrics and had a design ready within an hour, and a couturier booked half an hour afterwards.Suzanna helped us stay within the budget and i ended up with my dream dress! My mum and i had a fantastic time and a great laugh through it all; we really enjoyed the experience and would recommend to anyone!

The WORST experience as a bride to be.
I would never recommend d'Italia to my worst enemy. This has been the most ridiculous and stressful thing I came across as a bride.
I had so many troubles dealing with their staff and it was impossible to get my dream wedding dress.
Yes they have amazing reviews. Why? Because of a competition ran by the owner.
A competition where you would win your money back that you spent on materials only if you left great reviews across their social media network.
I know this because I met the winner and she told me.
Also, why is it that all 5 star reviews end around March 2016? Because that's when the competition ended.
Suzanna was extremely pushy and everyone that I speak to who has come across her has said the same, if not worse.
Have heard stories that people are so pressured the buy their materials there that they end up selling it privately afterwards as they weren't even happy with the lace.
Or when I was in store, Suzanna having a disagreement with another customer who was complaining about how everything was promised to create the perfect dress yet it was undelivered.
Please don't be fooled, they sell themselves as having a few dress makers who only work for them, it's not true. The dress makers take jobs from other sources too.
I was left with lace and fabrics that did not go well together at all and therefore left me without the dream wedding dress I had always wished for.
Please do not even consider this shop, it will be your biggest mistake like it was mine!!
I would give a negative star review if I could.

When I went to this store. I thought that they were a dress maker. In fact, they are a very expensive material shop that charged me a ridiculous amount for the supply of the material. I then got appointed a dress maker that had nothing to do with the business and had to pay an additional fee for the dress itself to be made. At the end result, I paid quite a lot of money for a dress that looked nothing like the photos that I originally supplied. Although my dress was very pretty. Was not 100% with the end result. There is a lot of good reviews regarding this shop due to a competition but I would like people to really consider looking into other options prior
