It was my first time at the Rocks Mornington. All I can say is that I would never go there again after waiting for about 10 minutes to get served which we never did. We had to approach someone at the bar for service as we wanted to have lunch. I would say about 4 staff walked straight past us and never asked us if we needed a table. It was so uncomfortable standing there just Ignored. We had a Rude waitress that never listened to a thing I said to her. Very over rated. Felt like we were treated like second class citizens. Very disappointed.

Great seafood, I recommend the charcoal prawn, and the oysters were excellent.

The mussels were extremely tasty, and my wife really enjoyed the green curry with white fish.

Finished off with the Affogato, it blew my mind.

    Nicely finished space, great views.

The access to the restaurant is a little strange, you have to walk around the side of the building, when we went there was construction fencing off to one side and service vehicles (I assume delivering) parked right in front of the door so we had to manoeuver around the vehicles to find the door which was hard when it was cold, windy and raining. You first walk through what looked to be a sailing club reception and gift shop? Then a climb up 2 sets of stairs and then no staff at the top of the stars, just an empty bar. It was very very loud which may not be able to be helped but i couldn't even here the person across for me. We went for lunch. Food was great.

    Hi Kristine

I want to commend you on the service and fabulous menu our small group enjoyed for lunch yesterday at The Rocks.. every dish was a delight to view and consume .

We enjoyed every aspect of our luncheon from food to stunning ocean view with the added bonus of the regatta out in the bay.

The entire menu was superb and the dessert pastries to die for.. in fact I'm already dying to have the profiteroles again.. they were heaven and the chocolate sauce was perfection..

The only problem I have with spreading the word about 'The Rocks' is you might become more popular to the point we wont get a booking with you on the next luncheon we plan. Seriously loved the food. Thank you for making our lunch such a pleasure Kristine .. your attention and service is impeccable.. Thank you.

    Kind regards
    Maree

Return visit September 2017 The Rocks had lost something.. needs attention quickly to bring back the food quality..service still outstanding..

Good place, was better. Still does some good food, but.some dishes now are a bit expensive for what you get. The coffee is average for Melbourne and the cakes that used to be famous seem to have dropped in quality, can't beat the view though.

Fantastic views and great service but food pretty average. Would expect far better for the prices charged :-(

Excellent food, great service, amazing venue! I organised my husband's 30th at Rocks all the way from WA. The team were super helpful and accomodated every need I had including changes in the last minute. Very impressed with how well the booking and special requests were handled. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Lovely environment and ambience, dishes were good but I only tried a couple. Interesting menu with a rather small serving size, I'd definitely be happier if the white baits are crispy!

The standard of the food in this restaurant has plummeted. This used to be my favourite place to go to in Mornington and one of the few places serving decent seafood dishes. But recently it's food quality has been consistently poor yet the prices are what you'd expect to be charged at a high end restaurant. It's such a shame

Tried the lobster bun, soft shell crab sliders, mussels, fish n chips and crispy fried white bait which were all gorgeous! They were voted the 2015 & 2016 Restaurant & Catering Association winners for the best seafood restaurant in VIC & TAS and I can see why!

Always found the staff to be pleasant and conversational. Food is delicious - for something different we tried the lamb tonight and it was simply superb. All other times the seafood has been worth the trip from Melbourne. The views are just sensational for a place on the bay to enjoy sunset too. First class value - five stars
