The bar staff seemed disinterested in serving us once they found out we were not buying drinks at the bar. It was 5 pm in the afternoon and we only wanted to get some dinner after an active day. The TV on the wall was showing "The Chase" while the radio played songs from the 90's and a few lone figures hovered over their beers. Not exactly a sophisticated atmosphere. The prices for mains are around $25 to $35 with other specials running just below that. The food took a long while, especially with so few customers, but came out in large portion sizes and was of decent quality. I ordered lasagna with mash and veggies and the ingredients seemed fresh. My husband ordered a burger and chips and he was happy with it as well. It's not a place I'd go to impress anyone, but if you're hungry or want to have some beers while watching TV in a casual environment, then this place would suite.

Looking around Healesville for a place to dine for lunch with my husband. Looked at a few menus from other establishments and they were to yuppie for our liking.
Then we came across The Grand Hotel's menu and saw the twice cooked Texas ribs with corn on the cob and Idaho potatoes. OMG the ribs were so delectably delicious. The meals were quick to come out with very generous portion sizes. The beer garden is a beautiful place to eat on a sunny day with plenty of shady tables. Friendly customer service.

OMG the vegetable pot pie with the sweet potato mash topping was magnificent. I am from interstate and am writing to them requesting the recipe. Usually don't finish a full meal but my husband was not getting any of this dish. Well done.

Great food and friendly staff. A well done up old school pub, even has outside toilets. Love the beer battered onions, will go again just for another plate. Have to watch the different floor levels of the old original floor boards. A good sobriety test to walk the boards carrying drinks back to the table.

Ate dinner here. Typical pub food. Nice old building. Open wood fire, just what your would expect. Good selection of tap beers. Nothing outstanding about the food, everything you would expect from an old pub. We wanted to stay the night in town but for some reason the staff were incapable of making a booking, or even checking if rooms were available, and directed us to book online. Weird clash of old meets new. Didn't stay there in the end.

Stopped for lunch with my wife. Service was efficient and staff polite. There was a minor menu dispute but staff remained calm and professional allowing us to continue enjoying our meal. The food was nice with a good mixture of classic pub grub and some more interesting dishes. Overall it was enjoyable experience. I would definitely consider stopping in again.

Recently refurbished. Very cozy and comfortable around the log fire in the main bar. Great place to meet and have a couple of beers. Bistro is awesome with great menu. To top things off friendly staff and atmosphere. Excellent and a great improvement. Well done 😃

Nice bar menu, a touch pricy but not when compared to the other pub in Healesville. Great burgers with an (now ubiquitous) Americana feel. Ok to bring young kids.

Food and service was good, a little slower than expected for a table of 2, but huge meals worth the wait

The steak I got wasn't rare and was quite chewy, but tasted ok. The entree came out with the main and was pointless in that regard. Drinks were good.

Food was ok. Had a meal in the bistro which was pleasant considering how hot it was outside. Ha a drive through bottle shop and beer garden
