Great food tucked away in a great little local pub in Port. Keep up the good work guys! Wagyu was amazing :-)

Visited on Friday for the wine and cheese tasting followed by a Bastille Day Menu. Was lovely sitting by the fire, despite the barman making it clear he'd prefer we sat at the bar. The owner was a real gentleman and suggested we try the menu. We agreed and sadly this is where it all went wrong. Placed on benchseats out the back we asked if we could move to a move comfortable chair/table with backrests. Young female waitress said no we are fully booked. During our entire meal there were 28 seats left empty. Asked if we could change the gingerbread icecream to plain vanilla (offered on another dessert) were told not possible. Everything seemed to be too hard and for that I won't return. Staff need to look at the bigger picture of hospitality.

Highly Recommended

We recently visited this Hotel and had a wonderful dinner. We had dinner in the garden area which provided a beautiful setting with a very pleasant atmosphere.

We had an excellent experience and we plan to come back and do it again.

I would not eat here again but would go for a glass of wine.Lovely ambience, servers were lovely and attentive, wine was really nice . Food was not good at all. I got salmon which was overcooked and dry for $36. My friend got steak which was also overcooked and the sauce was cold for $39. The impression was of a high end restaurant but the food was a far cry away. Disappointing and expensive.and I feel bad for saying so as I really liked the staff :-(

Was an amazing pub called the cricketers arms, honest, reliable, down to earth, $$ friendly and a great local get together.

A group us attended this revamped pretend Restaurant now called the "House of food and wine".. what a joke!
Ordered the fish and chips, which turned out to be heavily battered fish substance with French fries on the side. If I wanted French fries I could have got them at McDonald's for $1 where were the chips!. Stood at the bar for what seemed hours whilst the waiter ran around trying to find a white wine and then he joked about it!!. Out of a table of 10 only 2 good meals - the steak believe it or not but the sides where rubbish. We left most of the meal and nobody asked us about it, clearly indicating they don't care.

We are locals who live across the road who will never return to the place. Oh and watch the bill because they will not allow you to Pay for food as you order, we ended up having a bottle of wine added and nobody ordered it as we paid for drinks at the bar as we went. This also applied to the group opposite who also had the same problem. The service is a joke and certainly reminds me of faulty towers.

This used to be an amazing local pub called the Cricketers Arms but has recently been turned into a French cuisine restaurant. The food is expensive and the servings are small. I paid $33 for two small pieces of stuffed chicken served with half a cup of buttered spinach which hadn't been washed properly and was very gritty with dirt.

The reviews for this location are mostly for the Cricketers Arms as the owner has wrongly changed the name of this location instead of creating a new business thus taking the positive feedback and high star rating with it.
