Lobby renovations are finally completed and it has a much fresher feel. New Customs House restaurant has great outdoor setting on the park behind. Huge mess around hotel still though as George St train line construction has roads all closed around it. Building across the street is being torn down to build 1 Circular Quay building as well, so reasonably noisy environment, depending on what level and direction your room faces.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can see them on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

My husband and I stayed here three nights, two before and one after our cruise. The location was amazing! You are within walking distance to the Cruise Ship Terminal in Circular Key, the Sydney Opera House, and the Queen Victoria Building among others. The staff was kind and our room was perfect! The bed was very comfortable and had a spacious bathroom.

Additionally, the Marriott offers an Early Arrivals Lounge free of charge where you can shower, have snacks and freshen up if you arrive to the hotel before your room is ready (which we did due to coming in on an intentional flight). The hotel also offers free currency exchange up to $100 per day which was wonderful. Would definitely stay again!

This hotel is located so entirely conveniently to the harbor that it takes literally 3:21 to walk there — which I timed myself. The hotel room is spacious and clean with a modern design. The shower has no door — very European! But the bed is huge and has a master control panel by it that controls all lights in the room, not unlike Captain Kirk's command chair on the Enterprise. The pillows are plentiful and over-sized which I love. The bathroom had a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste which was wonderful because I needed it. The air conditioning is quiet yet efficient keeping the room at a delightful 19° C. The staff are excellent and they always call me by my honorific title which I enjoy since in the USA most hotel staff just call me "dude." I highly recommend it!

Always s great stay at this hotel along one of the most beautiful and picturesque harbors in the world. A morning run down past the Opera House and into the botanical gardens is my favorite city run in all the world.

I always stay at a Marriott if I can. I've been staying with them for the past few years and have earned their Gold Status. This location awards you well for being a Gold member. They give you free WiFi, but more than that they give you access to their executive lounge. The lounge is open 6 am - 12 am. Yes, you heard that right basically ALL DAY.

They serve a complimentary breakfast, mid afternoon tea/snacks, and dinner appetizers.

We just used it for breakfast every morning that we stayed there as it was quick, easy, and FREE.

But we also, grabbed drinks from there throughout the day after we went sightseeing.

As far as check in, due to the states departure times, it seems like many people end up arriving super early in the morning. So they developed a special area for "Early arrivals" it's a pseudo suite for these guests, where they can take a shower and freshen up. It was a life saving, as after a 14+ hr flight, you're not smelling too great.

After the shower, we were able to drop off our bags at the front and began sightseeing. The staff sent me a text when the roof was ready and they even had the bags in the room. The view is good, a bit obstructed but you can see the bridge.

The rooms were very clean and the water pressure was strong!

A (normally) "solid" Marriott with all the bells and whistles with which one becomes accustomed. If it suits your budget and you want to stay in safe surroundings close to the Sydney centre then look no further.
I've always enjoyed my stays here - it's been a favourite over the years.

Very nice hotel located within 10 minutes walk of Opera house and water front ferries etc.
Room quiet and clean with very good facilities and views.
Breakfast was great with many high quality extras not often seen at less than 5 star hotels.
The only complaint was with elevators, there was 5 to choose from but seemed like only one or two operating, very long wait and very crowded. The thing must have stopped 10 times on the way down one trip.
They did say they had issues with the elevators so they may have that sorted but with 5 of them you wouldn't expect 3 to be down at once?

Rooms are comfortable but a bit small. It has all the amenities you'd expect from a Marriott, although some of the things in the room were a bit dated (for example, a clock with an old iPhone dock). Great location, can't be beat, it's less than 5 minutes to Circular Quay wharfs and water taxis.

Went to the cafe within the Hotel and whilst it was extremely quiet (at 3pm on a Sunday) it was very peaceful. The building itself is very impressive and very conviniently located for both tourism and business meeting. Some of the function rooms looked extremely nice.

Centrally located. Recently remodeled. AMAZINGLY kind staff. I have told multiple friends about our stay. The room was spacious and the staff were extremely attentive to us and our baby. The new executive lounge is convenient, but most importantly the staff (Maria and Porchy) always went above and beyond to help us. Only frustration were the elevators are painfully slow.

This is a great hotel in a prime location. Staff is very courteous and always professional. Wonderful breakfast buffet with plenty of choices to please. Within walking distance to everything. I would highly recommend staying here if it is your first time to Sydney and you are unsure about navigating the surrounding areas.

Fantastic hotel right near the main attractions of Sydney including Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Circular Quay, Opera House and a short stroll to Pitt Street mall shopping. Has everything you need near by from exchange to convenience stores. Currently undergoing a face-lift so don't be put off by the scaffolding at the front. Inside is very well presented, elegant and upmarket. Recommended!
