We camped here over the Labour day long weekend. We enjoyed the river and their facilities. The fact that the whole place is dog friendly is great and makes for a very friendly atmosphere. The restaurant and cafe are very convenient.
Unfortunately, they had not sprayed the bindii in late Winter and the whole camp ground was now infested with it. Kids playing soccer, dogs going for a walk and people getting out of their tents were all hobbling around with spines in their feet.response / report this review -

Great location. Country hospitality more than boutique service, but kids had a great time. Stayed in Timber cabin. Basic but worked.

Last visit 4 years ago got 5 stars from us. This time, the one is for being dog friendly. Drinks are crazily priced and the food in the restaurant was beyond a joke and inedible. And the worst thing is, when we complained, they didn't give a toss. We paid for 2 nights and only stayed the one. Sad, because there's not enough Dog friendly places around. I think the owners know this and think they don't have to try very hard. Wrong wrong wrong. Oh yeah, $45 a night for unpowered in off season. really.??

Beautiful place. Went here about 5 years ago and loved it. Mainly due to their very very pet friendly nature.
And I cannot stress enough how pet friendly this place is. If you don't like animals, don't come here. Cause you'll just whinge later.
Pets are allowed off leash provided they are under owners control. They are allowed in parts of the restaurant, and the games room. There are cows and horses in the paddock.
There's a beautiful river. Great fun rapids if theres been a bit of rain.
Staff have been lovely both times we've been.
Horse riding was awesome.
Cannot recommend it enough, IF its what your into. If not, go find a hotel.response / report this review -

Nice place, reasonably priced. Good facilities and nice campsites. It's not bush camping, more like the equivalent of a caravan site for campers. But if that's what you're after (and used to), it's great. Sites were a bit small for my liking, but it comes with the territory, I suppose.

We had such a relaxing getaway at Riverwood Downs. The canoeing, horse riding, beautiful bush walks, indoor tennis, billiard tables, table tennis, camp fires and peaceful riverside cabins were a real treat. The staff made it extra special as well, going above and beyond our expectations. I could not fault anything - apart from maybe a lack of reception however this can also be a huge positive as it means you have true family time. It is a nice break from Sydney as you can really let you hair down. Our kids (and dog) all had a wonderful experience and would go back again. Thank you Riverwood Downs!
