  Building a home. Loving the black window frames etc however i don't think even 1 window frame is done right. The seals on most need to be fixed. All popping out.

  The worst service I have ever experienced.
  They request upfront payment never deliver on time parts missing key locks didn't match customer service is appalling.
  
  They promise you to come back to finish off the supply and install fly-screen doors and don't bother contacting the payee and never return to finish quoted job.
  
  After 2 months you call them and they start coming up with excuses parts where missing from there sliding doors and they will be charging extra to return.
  
  What do they not understand by the meaning supply and install! Does this sound like a reputable company of good business practices to any?
  
  STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
  
  Hopefully Fair Trading VIC will sort them out
  There service Manager was not helpful at all and saying they where assuming while providing a quote doesn't cover there mistakes.

  Failed to provide protective wrap on $9000 order even though ordered and paid for. Not only are the windows scratched, they claim it is my fault, they won't fix it and refuse to refund me for the wrap which was never applied!?!? This wrap would doubtless have prevented the scratches irrespective of whether they were inflicted during shipping or on site. Extremely disappointed. Save yourself hours of wasted time and lost hair, go buy doors and windows elsewhere.

  We had windows and bi-fold doors fitted to an investment property we built 2 years ago. Not long after the installation of the bi-fold doors it suddenly wouldn't lock. We called them out under warranty which they did. Problem fixed in the short term, before long they're back to have another go. We have since called them back again because guess what ?the door won't lock again. Response "no your just out of warranty"! I tried to explain to them it was the same issue, not a new one, and it still hadn't been repaired. They were pretty blunt and rude and pretty much wiped their hands of us. We did not choose this company, our builder did. Don't touch em with a 10 foot pole, clearly they don't stand by they're workmanship, or care about their customers experience. Not to mention that in strong winds the door creaks and scrapes and does not secure properly. Crappy workmanship and customer service all together!

  Couldn't recommend Southern Star at all. Cheap, low quality products with poor to terrible service.
  
  I ordered one awning window through southern star to replace a sliding door unit in a house which had been completely fitted out with southern star products when built. Rather than try and convey all the correct information via phone or email i decided to visit the show room to ensure i was ordering the correct product. I even took the original plans as i wanted exactly the same sized window as the other bedrooms in the house. All seemed to be going well, id have a quote within a day and product could be made within 7-10 working days. Great! i was happy, the clients were happy. 3 days later, no reply so i called back. Apparently my email address was incorrect, another day gone but forgivable. I get the quote, and its not for the same window at all. Rather than find the original paperwork they had just given me the standard price. I asked for the paperwork to be found with the original details to have this window the same. Another 3 days passes by. I chase it up again and get things moving. Not looking great at this stage but ill wait it out. It needs to be done right. Finally its moving again, i get the paperwork and confirmation its exactly the same. I sign it, Pay for it, and wait. 2 more weeks go by and the window turns up (looking at about a month since i originally walked in). The window looks ok, but I've been given the wrong reveals? somehow, i don't have the same reveals i specified ALL THE WAY THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. They offer me to bring the window back, pay extra and get the right ones fitted. No way, i cant waste more time and stuffing around, ill change them myself and suffer the cost. I was so over dealing with them!
  
  So the windows in. Square, level, plumb. But its not closing as it should. Further investigation shows that the awning part is out of square and twisted. Pretty disappointing for a full double glazed unit not to close properly. So more emails, phone calls, TIME and a service person comes to look. He's diagnosis (talking directly to the clients) is that ive put the screws in too tightly. Thanks mate, really professional especially considering that the awning hangs independently to the frame which is SQUARE, LEVEL AND PLUMB.
  
  Luckily my clients already knew first hand how useless Southern Star is But no apologies, no responsibility taken. Gutless and weak on their part.
  
  Very Disappointing, i couldn't recommend them less.
