Customer service was excellent. The hotel was always kept clean, including the pool and the hallways. There was lots of information on tourism activities near reception. The hotel was in a FANTASTIC location and was right next to the main strip of shops. It was also nice and quiet and the hotel rooms were clean and nice. Also, the jacuzzi was excellent and the pool was lovely to swim in. My only complaints would be the musky smell in the hotel room and the hallways, and the king bed was 2 single beds pushed together (which was uncomfortable to sleep in the middle). As well as this, the fire alarm went of twice by accident and woke us up during the evening (but i guess these things happen)overall i would definitely stay here again.

The suite was nice and clean. The location is great and staff was nice too but if you have luggage then you're in trouble. No elevator and lots of stairs!

So where can I start with Regal resort. When we walk in your are greeted by Sheryl’s warm, bubbly, simile. Bob checked us into our apartment and showed us how to use hot-tub. Gave us some advice where to eat and where is the Coles. The room is to one side the bed and other side was the balcony. I am guessing all the rooms are similar configurations. Only part we didn't like was the cooking as you need to open all the windows if you are cooking sausages or steak, but cooking pasta or something close lid would be fine but still need to open all the windows and put the fan high, so you don’t have to pay for the fire brigade…. Those are little thing I guess, because we had an awesome time.
The pool is small when you compare to other big resorts like peppers or oaks, but if you compare to other apartment complexes(such as Coral Sea Villas, Driftwood-Mantaray Apartments) which is close to the 4 mile beach or other none big company owned resorts, Regal is much better and big enough and it has a nice water feature.
Our apartment was clean so nothing much to report there, the pool had was nice, and it has a spa!!! (spa closes 5pm), free ice for your cocktails and a BBQ facility.
Coles is like 5-7mins walking distance.
and Similar distance to the 4 mile beach
Coffee we liked Sparrow Coffee which is before the Coles
and for lunch we hard Crocodile Pie from Mockas Pies (maybe just about very day :) )
Then you have the Mexican or the left and the Zinc on the right for closer restaurants.
For tours, why walk around to the tour shops. From my understanding they are owned by the big tour companies, like Quicksilver Group (Quicksilver, Silvers Series, Poseidon, Waredancer) Tropical Journeys (Calypso), Wavelength etc. so you don't know who is giving the right advice. So why not speak to Sheryl for unbiased information. The prices are pretty much the same. She asked few questions from us like, what we really want to get out of the reef and the left the Amex card and went to the pool. She did all the booking and printed out the information we need.
They really want to make sure we enjoy PD and enjoy their home. After all it is run by them so you have that warm welcome and they help you out. I do felt a bit for them as Sheryl does the all office stuff and Bob does the maintenance.
So we really liked Regal Port Douglas. So don’t get annoyed why Spa get close at 5pm and stick to the pool rules and you will enjoy too.

We've been here a number of time over the years and there are now new owners who have spent a few bucks on the joint. It's really good value for what it is. We had a great stay.

Easy to find, very clean, friendly staff, secure parking, nice apartment, and close to most places you need. What's not to like. Plus brilliant ice cream shop across the road. Lynda and Martin Oct 2016

We felt very welcomed at the Regal Port Douglas. The facilities were great, we loved swimming in the pool. The location is great, at max a 5 minute walk from everything in Port Douglas from restaurants to the beach front. We did find that some of the fittings in our room were a little worn, for instance a tap in the bathroom had a small amount of rust and some paint was peeling. However that may be inevitable in a salty tropical environment. Overall it didn't detract from our experience.
