Golden ale is tasty. The place is surrounded by nature and is really well maintained.
Good beer and cool location. Bit disappointed that the beers on tap are all the stock standard pilsner, larger etc and their best beers you have to buy by the bottle.
I first went to Red Hill Brewery with my Dad in 2015, in mid-July. As a fan of Ales and Stouts, I had a pint of the Scotch Brown Ale; it has since ranked #4 on my all-time favourite beer list. The food, while admittedly overpriced, is outstanding in quality (I recommend the Ribs), and every time that I have been there, I have been treated like family by the staff. Definitely planning on returning as soon as possible!!!
Stopped by on our way home from cape for lunch. Of the tastings the stout was a favourite ( although i stuck with the pilsner). We had the brisket the pulled lamb.
The bbq was very tasty but i was a little surprised at the small servings . Definately order more than you think if you want a substantial feed.
When a place is listed as open until 7, its reasonable to turn up at 6 and expect it to not be met with two guys shouting "we're closed" and laughing at me while patrons keep on enjoying their drinks. Adding myself to the list of people who feel stuffed around with the information put online about what this place offers and when to find out it is incorrect.
I had a great Scotch Ale from the hand pump, full bodied, plenty of malt, very smooth. The brisket was fantastic best I have had in Australia. Having lived in Texas and being a smoking enthusiast myself I despair at the dried out, too fast cooked brisket most Q places in Oz turn out. But the quality at this place was great. Sausages were good too. Mac N Cheese and slaw are what they are, not much to say. The chilli was disappointing, watery and a bit bland. All in all though, a great place.
Don't trust their website. Rather annoying to round up two families from the beach with the intention to get burgers and beers on a Friday night only to find out they are not doing dinners at the moment. If you are going to promote something on your website you should keep it updated.
Follow up > My review is not 'highly incorrect' You're website was not 100% up to date. It promoted burgers and beers on Fridays, it was until 6pm or maybe 7pm, which is why I rounded up everyone from the beach to go to the brewery. I was informed by staff on arrival that you hadn't done burgers for a few weeks and that we were not the first to show up expecting to be able to enjoy a burger and a beer, the staff member who was very apologetic also said they would once again ask the owners to update the website.
The taste of the food was fine but the prices are on the high side and the portion sizes underwhelming for what you pay for. Won't be back in a hurry.
Came here on a rainy day and the place was PACKED. It was rather hard to find a place to sit as it was busy and rainy, but the tables moved relatively quickly and the food was good. We had the jalapeno sausage, woodsmoked meat and salad which was all delicious I liked the Golden Ale, and my husband liked the Scotch. We will definitely be coming back!
The beers were very good (5 to choose from) and the slow cooked BBQ was also very tasty. Started with a tasting paddle, then a glass of belgian blonde with pulled pork and beef brisket for lunch, then a mixed six pack to take home. Service was great and I'll definitely call in again next time I'm in Red Hill.
Great beers, great beer garden. Lovely little spot. Get a sample paddle and have another of what you liked the most. Yum.
