The rooms are tiny, the description of the spa baths on their website is woefully inaccurate, and the reception staff is snobby and unaccomodating.
Their printed bar description states "come here if you want to hang with well heeled clientele" how much more pretentious can you get?!!
The saving grace is the good breakfast and the attending staff from the kitchen section, and the location near Daylesford.

The main building reveal an eligant look of the property. But unfortunately that is were it ends. The rooms reminded me of log cabins . Bathroom poorly designed, cattle needed a good wash , bed too soft, spa on
the balcony was dirty. The spa area needs some upgrading. Tiles missing does not impress for a 5 star hotel. The restaurant ambient was excellent but the service for breakfaat was poor. It took almost half an hour to get the coffee order. The breakfast which consisted of 4 options was great although my breakfast was ruined by finding a piece of hair in it. Maybe i just had a bad experience but to me this time around very disappointed as the venue did not come anywhere near what one would expect from a 5 star venue.

Ate at The Arguss. Food was beautiful. They ran out of a sweet white wine that was selling by the glass the waitress didn't offer us anything else. Waitress was messy and flustered kept telling us 2 secs and cool guys when ordering. When asked about the Menu she said she didn't know. Didn't offer to go and ask the Chef.

Stayed there for 2 nights and had a very pleasant time. The place is beautiful,a balanced mixture of rustic old and very modern. The staff were unfailingly friendly, generous and helpful. They really were doing their best to ensure we had an enjoyable, relaxed time.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. I am not a fussy person and I also work in customer service related role but what I got here is only disappointing.

From checking in, pre checked with staff before arriving see if early check in is available because of a 3month baby travel along with us and been told if room is ready it is fine.
When arrived the receptionist without checking straightaway told us check in is at 2pm.
There is no baby changing room or any facility.

After check-in been told "your breakfast is from 8 to . may be around 10am all the information on the print-out." Thank you for remind me that I can find information myself.

There is no disabled access from car park to the reception or there is no clear sign showing the way because the only access through restaurant is locked and also a table is against the access from inside. So I need to carry the pram to the building and also no access to the room on the 2nd floor.

And also took my credit card for a pre authorisation when checking in. I know there will be a surcharge if you pay by credit card so I double checked when checkout can I pay by cash or eftpos, and been told it is ok don't be worry. But when check out been told you have to pay the 2% surcharge and payment has been already taken care of. Are you kidding? With 3 month baby in arms I don't want to argue.

Wifi speed is so fast and you can enjoy
Refreshing several times only open up google page.

Room condition no comments. It is not because it is good, I just don't want to write a book here.

The only thing I would suggest if any of you who is going to book this so called 4 stars hotel because of other ones fully booked out the breakfast is not bad.

After a officially complain, I have been told the hotel is in transition of owner but doesn't mean service is in transition as well to the bad side? Surcharge is in transition of not matter cash or what, surcharge any way.

I won't list the Manager's name for privacy and also thank you for your reply the email told me if I am going to come back again will have a special discount package for me.

I just cannot see the reason that why I should go somewhere again once you have been overcharged and disappointed? Will you?

Checked in on the date of 30/7/2017

Absolutely great winter escape. Three outdoor view spas (two warm, one cold dip) and three saunas (steam room, infrared heat, and lavender coal steam). Go at sunset and get the cocktail special. Beautiful cocktail lounge and great restaurant. Big fan of the Peppers series of hotels and spas

Very nice but not outstanding. Restaurant closed on Monday nights, room service menu was very pedestrian. Luckily, Grande Hotel nearby was fabulous. Room very comfortable

Nice room, if slightly outdated. Lovely big bath. The toilet did not offer much in the way of privacy.

Staff don't talk to you and i ended up coming on own bc friend had to cancel at last minute. When i went to ask about wasps congregating near spa, the manager said there was nothing they could do. The bed isn't super comfy so i think the place gets by on its pretty ambience. Nice breakfast included.

an "OK" accommodation option in Hepburn Springs / Daylesford. Its got an oldy worldy feel to it with dark hallways and fairly basic rooms.
The good: its quiet and relaxing with views of nothing but nature out the window
    the bad
the food is very expensive and pretty poor quality. If eating in your room you'll have a choice of one soup, 3 mains and a couple of desserts. i chose the soup (2 out of 10) and the pizza (2 out of 10). There is a minimum charge of $40 for room service so my advice is to go out and look for something in the small Hepburn Springs town or the larger Daylesford.
    The ugly
in this age of connectivity, the internet is very poor in rooms.. cuts out frequently.. staff advise that only the common area has reliable connection.

A bit disappointing overall given that the Peppers brand generally does better than this

We didn't enjoy the meal. It could have been served and presented better. A bit pricey for what we received. The Spa was lovely. The view and facilities were awesome. Staff were friendly.
