It was a fair choice for a short business trip.
On the positive side, the price was reasonable for a central location close to business, shopping center and some nice bars and restaurants along Lt. Bourke. However, the hotel is squeezed between/behind the shopping center. The room was medium sized and clean, the bathroom appeared modern and nice.
On the not-so-positive side, the mattress was super soft and needs replacement IMHO, if you had a closer look into the room it may need a renovation in the not-too-distant future, too. The breakfast was ok, but when on the last day one of the elevator went out-of-order, the chaos was big as there were no stairs as alternative (other as the fire-exit ones which could not be utilized to go back to the rooms)

Always a pleasure. We try to stay here every time we go to Melbourne. Can't always stay because it can be expensive at times.
Best shower I've ever had in a hotel. Great water pressure and able to turn the shower head away while you get the right temperature.
Beds aren't the softest but are certainly okay.
Staff are always friendly and come out to greet us.

I love staying in Mercure because of its warmth service eith a smile. Staff are attentive and prompt. and efficient.

Only issue is the room. Needs to be vacuum.

It would be nice if the wardrobe had doors.

    Food was excellent.

    Location very good n central.

    Had a pleasant stay.

We had met helpful and responsive staffs in assisting our doubt. The room was relatively clean and good housekeeping with its staff doing a great job. Our mess was cleared with their great works. It is located in good area.
We felt the hotel catering for breakfast food should be improved especially it is receiving International Guests.
Can you imagine eating the same first meal for the past days. We observed there was ONLY 1 disk that it had changed. Mushrooms, fried rice & then fried noodle, and it start all over again. Terrible :-(
Anyway we like to thank you, ALL for providing this great hospitality in our 1st trip to Melbourne.
    Thank you

We booked a hotel last minute. The staff were friendly and the price was fair.

The location is fantastic! Centre Place, Hardware Lane, Melbourne Centre shopping and China Town are walking distance from the hotel.

Room was slightly dated but clean and tidy. The bathroom felt recently renovated which lifted the space.
Good black out blinds. Spacious room.

    Speedy desk service. Great stay!

I was surprised that the room 1033 was not very clean, smelt a cigarette and when having a shower it would flood the floor because the silicone I think had gone. They immediately moved me to the room 1044 and it was much better.
One day got to the Hotel later, almost time to close the restaurant and the Chef was unbelievably nice. He cooked for us and the staff was amazing!
I normally stay at this Hotel and highly recommend it! If you have problems the staff does its best to fix it as soon as possible.

Staff lovely rooms clean, breakfast ok but very crowded and not enough tables. Someone on our floor was smoking (it was no smoking)and it stunk the whole floor out our room was horrible after that. The lifts were so slow waiting up to 20 minutes.
Very impressed they saw was my birthday and gave me a bottle of wine

The check in process was completed expeditiously and courteously. The staff managing vehicles were extremely helpful with directions to the car park and warnings re: using the correct park. Overall a very pleasant experience.

The location was great, right in the heart if the city. Room wasn't the cleanest although not terrible. There was a LOT of noise overnight, both external and internal. Overall it really could have been just that little bit better with not much effort but the services and maintenance were obviously lacking

As usual staff were efficient and helpful, room was a good size and clean. Bed was great. Slept like a log, This hotel does not provide an "in room" safe, unlike most other Ibis/Mercure hotels in which I have stayed. Yes, maybe at reception, but having to head from 12th floor to reception to recover something from safe keeping, then head back to floor 12, etc, it just a tad stressful.unhelpful. If one has come in from overseas then passport, extra money, tickets etc can only be placed in one's bag or taken downstairs and retrieved often.

Good hotel. Good value but rooms are tiny. Very clean and great facilities. The staff are awesome. The beds are very comfortable. Great value for a city hotel. Brekkie buffet is awesome.
