Was here for a work function end of year ball.
The venue was good, overlooking the field.
The function was due to finish at midnight but for some reason they closed the bar off to everyone at 10pm without any warning or announcement, which was pretty disappointing seeing as everyone had paid for a drinks package included with ticket price.response / report this review -

Very large ground, good playing surface. Plenty of seating on most events. The highest rows in the grandstand can make you feel a bit dizzy.

A great place to watch sport. No matter if you are up in the gods or if you are in a corporate box the view will be clear. Located near public transport options (both trains at two stations, and trams into the city). Within walking distance of the CBD, so watch the game then head into the city for a few post game drinks.

One of the world’s best stadiums. Seating for 100,000 spectators, well-equipped bars and food venues all around the ground, and easy access. Car parking is obviously difficult here during big events, so public transport is recommended (and convenient). If you get the chance, come here for the annual Boxing Day test match starting on 26 December.

Home of The Mighty Tigers. Magnificent stadium that elicits some of my most treasured childhood memories of going to the footy with my dad. Of course, as with any public venue such as this, the prices for food and drink are ludicrous, but a huge crowd at the MCG is an experience that everyone should experience.

The most iconic sporting ground in the southern hemisphere, spiritual home of the AFL and the Boxing Day Test. There is no better day out in Melbourne than being at the footy with 70K plus fans. The museum is excellent as well, a must visit destination if you are visiting Melbourne.

Amazing Melbourne. Great stadium with wide option of sporting events. Voted one of the best cities to live in many times! Incredible clean city and suburbs. Lots of great restaurants representing wide variety of cuisines. Their food tastes perfect! Awesome Melbourne and awesome Australia.

Sports museum is great, heads up on the tour though. My wife and I did it in June 2015, just us so we were asked to wait around after the normal start time in case someone else showed up. A group of 3 corporates in suits turned up after start time and joined us (we were dressed casual, I had a club jumper on) at which point the guide refused to answer any of our questions and laughed at us for trying to talk to her. I'd still recommend the tour, but either dress so you look important, or do the tour with other people dressed similar, it's shameful but they do profile you and treat you accordingly.

Sport museum has library a must see of memorabilia. Great stadium for Aussie rules football day and night. Summer time cricket great too. Food can be pricey however. Iconic venue.

The home of football. National sports museum is great for the kids before a game or just for non game day weekend filler. The recent renovations in the southern stand have updated some tired parts of the stadium. Be sure to arrive early as gate inspections can build the line up really quickly on match day. Always a great day out!

Iconic venue with capacity to host the biggest events; food's close, bar's serve quickly, staff are friendly. Only issue is the space between seats and getting in and out of your seat without upsetting other patrons - probably the price you pay for large numbers and good views. Still love the "G"!!

What can I say about the G. It is a great place to watch your footy team or cricket. A peety my team didn't win on the day. The sports museum is a must! The staff are friendly & helpful.

Excellent guided tour by the MCG committee. Covers cricket, football and the Olympics. They will let you go near the pavilion, dressing room & gym.
Take the time to check out the museum too, so much to see and do. Will need several hours to do the museum on its own. Display of great history collection.
