Its sad that there are not many doctors or clinics for birds. But it's very pleased to know that doctors at Melbourne Bird veterinary are extremely caring and knowledgeable.
Lives are in God's hands, but what we expect from our doctors is their care and empathy and not only Dr. Matt, Dr Pat but also the whole team Ben, Tony, Maddy everyone is so concern and deal with sick birds like they own them.
Miko, my cockateil was sick and the whole team was taking care of him, after the blood test early in the morning doctor contacted me to give the result. Dr. Matt gave the medicines which were very effective and he was still concerned untill he was assured that Miko is doing well.
With his medicines Miko is back to himself. Thank you everyone there. Just a little request please try to inform your patients if there is any change in schedule in appointments. That would be quite helpful. But it's understandable sometimes things come up from no where.response / report this review -

My go to Avian vet, wouldn’t take my birds anywhere else. Both Vets are great to deal with and obviously very knowledgeable in their area of expertise. The receptionists are also so lovely and welcoming. I bought my budgie in because he formed an interest of mashing up his pellets in his mouth to eat and the vet who saw me ran tests to find out his just special boy who is weird.. thanks for putting my mind at ease!

The team here were so helpful looking after our little Selma (3 month old Isa Brown chicken) after she suffered a puncture wound which turned into a nasty cavity. Multiple visits and some well-guided TLC has seen are girl on her way to recovery.

Maddy is the best! I have huge trust issues when it comes to letting someone handle my bird. I trust Maddy. She has a beautiful caring nature and I feel my little guy is safe in her hands.

I just want to say a huge thankyou to Dr Maddie and her team for looking after our cockatiel happy after he flew into the wall and had an head injury. He is back to his normal self. Cant not recommend this place enough.

Amazing and kind! So gentle with my baby girl, gave her treatment and it was so affordable, she stopped plucking, I travelled 3.5 hours just to see these people and it was so worth It!

Had an appointment there for our lovely boy Ozzy (a scaly breasted lorikeet) the vet was obviously a dedicated bird lover and very thoroughly went through ways in which to teach our boy to be a little better behaved. I would highly recommend their professionalism and expertise and genuine care for all feathered friends.

Very caring and compassionate staff! My budgie Lilith was unwell last year and ended up having a tumor and passed away. The vets took such good care with assessment, treatment and support that I would not go anywhere else! They are specialised with birds and really know their work. I have been to other general vets and avian specialists, and no-one is better than this clinic. Thank you all, particularly Dr Stacey!!

The Vets are caring and excellent cannot speak any more highly of them. I travel 20 klms just to go to this vet clinic. Best Avian Vets in Melbourne.

Took my whole flock of chickens here. I must say this is the first time i have ever taken them to a vet let alone a bird vet. But im glad i did when my chickens fell quiet ill and i didnt want to lose them. Dr stacey was profesional and understanding when i took my babies there. He diagnosed them and gave them treatment that worked and saved all of them. One of my chickens fell so ill she needed to be hospitalised and when i went to pick her up she was like brand new!. I highly recommend this bird clinic and i'm so glad i found them as its hard to find vets for birds only.

This clinic kindly supports our not-for-profit that cares for homeless birds (Bird Re-homing Services Inc.). The staff are not only wonderful with their cases, they have a genuine interest in avian welfare.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! IF YOU HAVE A SICK BIRD THIS IS WHERE YOU SHOULD COME!
this vet saved our budgies life. we are indebted to the care and tests done to save his life. after a bad first vet experience at another vet who claimed to specialise in birds, and the initial antibiotics prescribed not getting him better, we took him to the Melbourne Vet Clinic for a second opinion.
Dr Stacey did all the necessary swabs and tests and diagnosed our beloved budgie and saved his life. had we have left the initial course of antibiotics initially prescribed by the first vet, we believe we wouldn't have our little guy here today.
Although this vet is a little further out, it's well worth the trip. they have attention to detail and duty of care and specialise in birds.
