This was my first visit to Maurice Meade and it was fabulous! Taneeka was amazing and I am so happy with my colour. She explained all of my options, showed me photos of examples and stepped me through the process. All of the staff were very attentive and I would highly recommend Maurice Meade Garden City.

Nadine is an excellent Colour Specialist. She really listens to what I want and she has transformed my colour into what I have always wanted, but not had until seeing her. Nadine is also very professional and personable and an asset to the Store.

Bottom line is ‘I love my hair’
Nerves and dread have always come to mind before I get my hair restyled and coloured so I want to immensely thank Nadine and Brett for burying those thoughts into the future knowing I can rely on the expertise at MM Garden City. I can not recommend this place enough.
The staff are so highly experienced in their fields and their standard of professionalism and warming engagement with customers will always keep me coming back.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
From the consultation, to the colouring.. Washing to the cutting and styling Just perfect and flawless.

Today I had my hair done by Brett. I asked that he cut it short, and after he spent ages making sure I was aware of the implications, he chopped it off. I knew Brett would do a good job because it has always been clear that he is interested, first and foremost, in me. That is the attitude exhibited by everyone at this Garden City store, so his attitude is not unusual in this salon. Indeed, there have been many times when the advice given to me by Justin, Jess, Brett and others, was detrimental (in dollar terms) for the stylist or salon, yet that didn't matter. What mattered to the stylist and others, was how my life would be impacted by the style. Thank you Brett, and everyone else at Garden City for being so good for me.

They are the best. I went in with a mess created by another hair dresser & myself trying to cover her mess. Brett was amazing even though it was a busy Saturday he took the time & fixed the mess. Hes an amazing colourist & so are the apprentices that also help. Then the two amazing hair stylist who helped with the cut. The amazing Katie was who did the cut & gave me an amazing hair style, something Ive always wanted to do.

I was given a gift voucher for my birthday. I went and got a quote in writing. My appointment was for 10 o'clock. 10.35 l am still waiting. Finally l am informed that the cost of my hair colour is $120 more than l was quoted. I was told I was misquoted in front of a shop full of people and being interrogated about whether I had got the information l was given correct even though the price and treatment was on the gift card. Also, they wanted to know if l was a regular customer (is that some sort of criteria for honest business-l think not). You spoiled my birthday Maurice Mead. Never again. Have since had my hair done at salon express at a fraction of the cost.

I have been going here for a number of years (8), always a pleasant experience. I have always been happy with what has been done with my hair. I find the staff professional and helpful. I have cuts, restyles, colours and foils and styling done.

I had the worst experience at Maurice Meade Garden City.
Booked in for 1/4 head of sunkissed balayage. The colourist was in the WORST mood I have ever seen anyone in. She was yanking at my hair and literally ignoring anything I said. She even mimiced me when I was telling her how nice it was to have a day of "me time".
She didn't give me balayage - I have streaks in the front panels of my hair that look like they are from 1996.
When I asked her about the foils, I said "I was just wondering, these don't seem like balayage, is it just me?" (Trying to be sweet to her because she looked like she might punch someone) Her reply? "You booked in for quarter foils and that's what you GOT" Then stormed off.
Then I had my makeup done and it was even worse. It was without any doubt, the worst attempt at makeup I have ever seen. I cannot believe they allow staff to perform such underskilled work and take our money for it.
I wiped the make up off when I left, and now have to grow out these terrrible, uneven stripey streaks.
Waste of money and the rudest experience.

I've tried a $10 hair cut, to see what it would look like. This was a $70 hair cut that managed to look far worse then a patchy $10 hair cut. Avoid this place like the plague unless you want your hair butchered and uneven.
