  I organised my friend’s hens on July 7. We had the high tea plus the tea blending workshop. Our group was quite large at 20 and the overwhelming feedback was that it was a great function. Sarah was fantastic during the workshop and we learnt the right way to drink tea. The Mary eats cake team were wonderful and were quite accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend having high tea at Mary eats cake �

  On Saturday I had my high tea for my bridal shower at Montrose. The food was phenomenal, the people working there were lovely, the tea was also very good. We had the function room and it was a lovely time for me to spend with family and friends. I loved the high tea, with the vintage tea cups and cake stands, it truly represents me. I was so happy to have had this great experience. Thank you

  One of the best Highteas I've had the pleasure of enjoying.
  
  Staff are friendly & attentive, without hovering.
  
  And the food, my oh my where do I start!
  
  From Savoury to sweet,it's all delicious. Scones are amazing & the lady with me considers herself quite the "Sconeoisseur" (connoisseur of scones) & she loved them.
  
  The teas are of the highest quality.
  
  Will be back for sure

  So sad. Waited weeks for today arrive. We were really looking forward to it. Served with 4 teas no spoons no napkins and one tiny serve of milk to share. Only enough for one of us. Our scone platter came out missing salted caramel. The waitress taking our plates away while we were still eating off them. Didn't even ask though clearly not finished.

  Been twice. First time was great so yesterday I took some other friends there. The scone board was beautifully presented as always but the scones were small and hard as a rock. Disappointed. Hopefully just a bad batch and an off day?! Will go back and try a third time. �

  Took my mother and nana here for Mother's Day high tea, this was our first time at Mary Eats Cake and had a lovely time.
  
  The atmosphere, food and tea were all lovely and I won't hesitate to recommend my friends. My vegan requirements were so well looked after. Will be back in future.

  I have been to both the Sydney Road and Montrose locations and Mary never disappoints. I took my mum for the vegan high tea this Mother's Day and we both loved it. Great food, great service and a beautiful Dandenong Ranges backdrop. Love this place! Thank you for catering to vegans.

  We were a bit disappointed with a name like Mary eats cake we expected lots of cake. No there were 4 different cakes !!
  
  Mind you they tasted fine and their scones were lovely, but the lack of choice let the place down. May not go back again.

  Yesterday we celebrated my boyfriend and I's 25th birthday with 30 of our friends in Mary's Wing and couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out! First the booking and payments were an absolute breeze, I called to enquire about some details on the event the day before and all my questions were easily answered. The day of the event was splendid, all my guests were so impressed with the room set up - from the fresh flower table centres, the tea sets provided, to the flower backdrops and THE FOOD!!!! Unlimited scones, jam and cream were a hit, especially when they came out piping hot and fresh out of the oven! The seasonal menu we had was too pretty to eat - from the macaronade, cheesecake to the pies and sandwiches, everything was delicious! (We only found the cake pops were a bit of a miss, as the lemon was too sour and the cake pop texture felt a bit like undercooked cookie dough.) The service was excellent, as our waiter was constantly checking if we needed anything and refilling the tea pots, and the scones waiter came around 3 times to see if we needed any more! We opted for an additional hour to the 2 hour sitting, and found that 3 was most definitely optimum for any special event! Left the place feeling absolutely stuffed to the brim with sweets and couldn't be happier we chose Mary Eats Cake Montrose for our event! Thank you for the very special memories

  I took my mum for a surprise birthday treat and it was fabulous! Great teas, delicious food in a beautiful venue. Not to mention the friendly staff. We will be back for sure, thank you.

  Had an absolutely fabulous time before a day out in the ranges. Such a delicious line up of cakes and savouries, not to mention some sneaky cocktails. Loved the attentive staff, can’t wait to pop back through.

  We love attending Mary’s for their divine High Teas or a visit for coffee and treat Beautiful tea rooms and amazing staff. We love that Mary has opened so close to home in Montrose. #HighTeaQueens @lisaandlisa

  Took Mum here for Mothers's Day and she won't stop talking about how she wants to come back. My only disappointment is I couldn't fit in some more of those delicious scones.

  My daughter took me here this morning for Mothers Day High Tea, It was amazing. The food was delicious and the staff were so lovely. Highly recommend it. Cant wait to go back again.

  The decor was fairytale - very, very pretty. The food excellent as was the service. Couldn’t fault it in any way. Worth a visit for anyone who hasn’t been. �
