We had a bad experience where after check in we wanted to relax before dinner but the spa didn't have hot water and the sauna was out of order. We were also informed that the restaurant would not be open tonight and the front desk was staffed only until 9pm.
We found hair in one of the beds which also appeared to have bwwn used and called reception. We were initially told they had no spare sheets. We had to suggest that they use the clean sheets so they did.
My friend suffered a migrant attack at 10pm and we had to call a 24/7 doctor whose card was displayed at receptiob area. The doctor did not oick up and did not return our 2 calls. Not impressed at all really and won't be coming back!

Exquisite rooms. Comfy and warm. Friendly reception staff. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had.

Nice room, restaurant closed, decoration very eclectic in an interesting old building.

Bitterly disappointing, nothing good about this establishment. Room was small and so cramped you couldn’t take a step without hitting something. Room was nothing like the photos. Desk in room was so small I could even sit my laptop on it, let alone do any work properly.
TV was below bead height so you couldn’t even watch TV comfortably.
Shower was small with 3 shelves – 2 at head height. Windows rattled all night. Door and curtains let a lot of light in outside no matter how much I tried to close them off properly.
Hall way was disgusting – looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in days.
Stopped raining the day before but they still had buckets out everywhere to catch leaks from roof.

this is a lovely old hotel, breakfast is rather ordinary but what do you expect from Australia they have no staff on duty as its too expensive to pay for F&B Staff!

Modern sophistication meets old world charm. Very friendly host upon arrival. Rooms were superbly appointed and very comfortable. You feel like you have gone back in time and staying in a golden era hotel.

The only drawback was it was over 35 degrees when we checked in and the air conditioning had not been turned on in our rooms. The air conditioner in one room struggled to cool the room. Paying attention to these finer details and checking/replacing air conditioning would easily make this a five star plus place to stay.
