Rooms are clean, good convenient location near supermarkets & cafes. Reception staff are friendly, however, closes at 9pm. We are told smoke detectors are super sensitive, could be set off by steam from shower if bathroom door not closed.

The airconditioner is extremely loud and inefficient. The room is cold. the staff are helpful and friendly.

Stayed at this Motel at Cessnock for the weekend at Hunter Valley. Room was spacious and comfortable. Good location close to shopping area and next to the Cessnock Leagues Club.

As I can't sleep I might as well write this review. My last stay here was quiet and peaceful and very enjoyable. By the way, I'm going to prefix this semi rant by saying the staff here are great and the continental breakfast area was really good! The league club across the road offers reasonable food and beers. There's my three stars right there.
My room was adequate, if some what grandeurized in its description. A 'King Executive room' sounded awesome with its onsuite bathroom (sadly only a shower that could be used as long as the bathroom door was shut) Surely a king could expect a bath? And an executive one an actual desk?
To be fair the motel can't be responsible for all the outside factors I'm about to mention, but if your paying for accomodation it's good to know.
For those in a room overlooking the main road e.g an odd numbered room, be prepared and hope it's not hoon night! 2 nights out of 3 I was entertained by the delightful sound of squealing tyres and barking exhausts as the local town tools drag raced and donuted outside the window.
Oddly you will also be entertained by the intermittent, but far too frequent jarring sound of the tanoy system from BIG W across the road (still going at 10pm). You won't be able to make out what there saying, but it will be irritating enough to jar you awake if you tried to get an early night.
Basically It's a question of numbers and if they're even ones, enjoy your stay! Oh and if your numbers come up odd, there's plenty of places to buy ear plugs within walking distance.
