How can anyone give a rating below four stars?? It is the most exhilarating experience; the perfect serenity to escape the overwhelming responsibilities life brings. The tour guides were amazing, informative and easy to get along with. They explained that the early rise is due to the temperature it's got nothing to do with the sunrise! So don't always expect to catch the sunrise people.
We did have to help pack up but with such a big balloon it is impossible to ask the staff to do it alone, besides the more people there were to help pack the faster we got on the busses.
Definitely recommend the one hour extended flight, because by the time you launch and land that's almost 30mins gone.
Wear closed toed shoes (shoes you don't care about, they get dirty when packing the balloon) and long pants in case you land in some long grass. Bring some food and snacks before you don't get that until after everything is done.

Genuine service and a once in a lifetime experience! The early morning is worth it for the spectacular sunrise views over the tablelands of cairns! Highly recommend for any ages, magical!!

From start to finish it was an AMAZING experience. I am all about customer service and a bloody good time, and these guys had it all. From pickup at 4am, the staff were friendly, engaging, knowledgable and approachable. The experience was second to none!!
Thankyou so much for brightening my weekend, and giving me the best view of the Tablelands!!

This business is a well oiled machine. From the confirmation SMS to he drop off at the hotel, everything ran extremely smoothly.

Dave picked us up at 4.15am from the hotel. We then picked up a couple more groups from other hotels and made the trip to Mareeba where we had a quick toilet break before driving another 5 minutes to a property just out of town. The safety Demo was played on the bus in the trip out in Chinese, Japanese and English so everyone could easily understand it.

The balloons were already well on the way to being ready for flight on our arrival. We boarded and the staff were joking and getting everyone ready for the flight. We had a very smooth take off. Shaun our pilot was excellent to deal with. We went up 2500+ metres. Shaun explained the different wind speeds and directions at various levels. The views drifting over the tablelands was just amazing! We safely landed 30 minutes later and dropped off everyone but the two of us and loaded again for flight 2.

Once again, smooth take off and landing. Spectacular views as we passed right over Mareeba. We then helped pick up the balloon which was a fun experience in itself. DON'T WEAR WHITE clothing if you want to be involved in the pack down and wear runners - not thongs or heels for the ladies. Once we were packed we headed to Mareeba for a toilet break and grabbed the best coffee we had all holiday from the little trailer coffee shop in the car park before heading back to Cairns. We were back in our room having breakfast by 10am.

We can't thank the team at Hot Air enough for making this one of the best experiences we've ever had on a holiday. Totally worth the 3.30am alarm! Thanks to Andrew, Dave, Eva, Lindsay and of course our exceptional pilot Shaun for making this a winning experience Especially seeing I'm petrified of heights.

Amazing!! Made a really good start to the day. Staff are really good and helpful. Balloon flight was an amazing experience pilot was really kind and funny. Would do it again no worries at all. Would recommend the 60 min flight, money well spent.

Great experience and views BUT a coffee/snack/refreshment wouldn't go astray. Pre 0400 pick up but we didn't get in the balloon until 0640. We missed sunrise while waiting for another group to have a good. Entire experience lasted five hours but we were only in the air for 30 minutes. Go with a smaller company.
