We chose this company only because our AirBnB host recommended it. Diving at the Great Barrier Reef was a bucket list item for me. And I was very specific to both our dive master and the photographer (Gabriel, I believe) that I wanted pictures of our certified scuba dives. During our second dive I asked the dive master, while we were still under water, about where the photographer was. He asked us to stay where we were so that he could go look. And a minute later he asked us to surface, since the photographer was already on the boat! When we found the photographer and asked him what had happened, he promptly blamed the dive master and said the dive master knew where he was, so he should have brought us to him. And then there were all these other 'discover scuba' divers with amazing pictures with these sea creatures that we never got the opportunity to see! Paid a whole lot of money to NOT get services we particularly asked for. Look for better dive companies, there are many out there!

Diving as a certified diver was awesome, snorkelling was great, food delicious, almost all the crew super friendly and keen for a chat. Really great value for money compared to other companies and a good system on board for keeping your gear all together.
Only slight negative comment would be that it felt like such a long time to spend at 2 reefs and that the snorkelling range wasn’t very big so the lifeguard would blow the whistle every 20 seconds.

Fantastic day, very happy, friendly and knowledgeable crew who looked after our every need. Larger boat with a lot of passengers but we were cared for really well by the individuals who were assigned to our groups.
Diving was amazing, saw some creatures I was desperate to see and went to the most beautiful coral grounds. Excellent all round

    Outstanding staff.
Outstanding attitude and Customer Service from start to finish.
Awesome lunch - seriously good food.
    Good Value.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a great day out - starts 0730 back about 1600.

ONLY recommendation is to seek clarity on when the complimentary intro dive ends and the $65 dive begins

    Would def go again.

    Thanks Guys and Girls!

If you didn't need to cater for a group of 6 and the staff did have all the correct info about what your ticket included, it should be a good tour.

However, we had a group of 7 including a young kid, 4 of us had Semi-Submersible included. I have told my family that 4 of us can go. Then I went for a snorkel while my family should go and prepare for the the Submersible tour. After I came back, I was told 2 staff had told my family they need to pay extra for the tour, 3 of us went. However, the last one didn't go and at least 30 mins wasted until the staff told the family you need to pay extra, and because of that, there was not enough time for snorkel for the person didn't go. At the payment, I confirmed that they made a mistake, but they refused to refund or do anything at all.

So I called up after finishing the tour, they understood it and require me to send an email, I asked for a email address it was mentioned that it should come around in an hour. However after a day, they didn't send me the email, so I have to find it on the website, and sent through, and it took them more than a day to come back, and quite standard and perfunctory.

I mentioned that it was not to my satisfactory, however they never came back to me, even their last sentence was "please don’t hesitate to contact us.".

I did all my part to clarify the issue but the miscommunication and customer service was a bad experience for the day out.

Wow. I can't even begin to describe The day that I had with this company. It was an absolutely incredible experience that I will never forget and I'm so thankful for the team for making it everything and more that day. From the scenic helicopter ride, the incredible lunch, the snorkelling and the diving. It was one of the best days of my life! Massive shoutout to scuba instructor Dee who made the day just that little bit extra special. Thanks down under cruise and dive, you guys rocked, you gave me a once in a lifetime changing experience I'll never forget and I'm sure you'll give the same experience through and through to each and every single person.

Incredible experience from start to finish. The boat is immaculate and the crew was very professional. I did my intro dive with Shannon who made me feel extremely safe and comfortable and the rest of the staff that helped with the gear were very kind and obviously well trained! After that I was hooked so Steve was extremely helpful and was able to squeeze me in their already busy diving schedule for a second dive. Didn't get the name of the gentlemen that took me on the second dive but he was a GREAT guide. We were lucky enough to see a white tip Reef shark, which made my entire year! I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a day on the reef. Thank you Down Under Cruise & Dive for making a dream I've had since I was 5 come true!!

Did not get what we paid, the owner is rude and feels it is OK to not offer a refund or alternative since the vessel we all booked was not available. Worse trip to the reef ever. I have lived in Cairns for 20 years and use to work on the reef, his staff do the best they can with what they are given. AVOID THESE GUYS LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Did my 4 day open water PADI course with Frankie. Amazing experience and great tuition.

Would very much recommend this place to learn to dive. Also the Evolution vessel is amazing. You're treated like VIP's.

Lovely trip with great food, beautiful dives and a very friendly and helpful team. Unfortunately I was disappointed that on top of the original cost there were many extra expenses. For example I had to pay for a stinger suit- an essential, life saving piece of equipment for diving. Either include this in the cost or hand them out free of charge as I'd rather not risk my life.

I had a ball, the guided introduction dive was amazing. I have unfortunately forgotten my guides name but what made my trip was his enthusiasm for the reef. That meant I saw so much and felt comfortable enough under water to enjoy the trip. The boat was clean, not overcrowded, well stocked, had cheap beer and friendly crew. Perfect intro dive day.

Very nice and well managed cruise. The whole day had been perfectly planned by the cruise company with full of activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, helicopter ride + semi submersible boat. The staff members are very considerate and listens of each individual's needs. Provided by variety of good and delicious lunch followed by fruits and wine. Overall best bet for the money paid.
