My wife and I had a great time with this company in late August. We had booked the Extreme Tully Rafting through a tour operator, and were picked up on time on the morning of the day of the excursion.
When we got taken to Raging Thunder's base in Cairns to sign in and get our wristbands etc we found out the Extreme experience had been canned because not enough people that day had booked it. That was disappointing, but we were told they would try to add extra activities to our experience to make up for it.
After a pleasant bus journey to the Tully River, we met our guide, got kitted up and got into the rafts to start our adventure. The safety briefing had been given on the bus but some of the important points were re-iterated on the raft, which made good sense.
I have to say, we had an excellent time. Our guide, Al, made sure our team knew what we were doing and we did get to do a few extra things that would have been included in the Extreme package.
Overall, they were a very professional company who made sure everybody felt safe and had a great time. Highly recommended. Fantastic experience.response / report this review -

We've done rafting on Tully river with them and I absolutely recommend it! It was a fantastic day out on the water among the beautiful rainforest covering the river banks! Our guide was also just super - funny and knowledgeable, made us laugh all the way and also explained well how to stir the raft and told a few local stories. Absolutely loved the experience and it is definitely something that I would like to do again!

Raging Thunder was awesome. I did the Canyoning and Zip Line one weekend. Then Extreme Tully River Rafting the next weekend. Wow. So awesome. Had a ot of fun. A big thank you to every one at Raging Thunder. :-)

Went to Fitzroy Island with Raging Thunder for Australia Day. It's a beautiful place to visit. The Raging Thunder crew were absolutely awesome. Super helpful, chilled, and great customer service. Well done guys. Thanks for a great day.

Jonny and Paul were great instructors and leaders for the day out. the rapids were unforgiving and the day was unforgettable. we did the extreme choice and it lived up to its name. what a great day out.be sure to slap on plenty of suncream or you'll go home with red thighs on a sunny day. thanks again guys.cheers Mick.

Our trip to Fitzroy Island was the amazing and a big thank you to the crew at raging thunder ! These guys know their stuff well and were knowledgeable , love their sense of humour, had very good facilities , the quick lunch option was great.
I'm sure it's just in their nature 😀 to be as good.
Would definitely recommend anyone to tag along with them when in cairns. What a trip !response / report this review -

We had an amazing time with Nick as our guide! First time rafting was a little nerve wracking but by the end of the day we were so comfortable and were really able to enjoy every second!
The scenery is beautiful, the staff were great. did I mention Nick was awesome? In general the whole day was set up really well with breaks, food & toilet stops.
It does take a while to get to the amazing river spot so it probably not a trip for people hate buses or coaches.
The thing to keep in mind is not to waste time doing half a day rafting! Guaranteed after doing your half day you will want more so go for the full day straight away.

Easily the best day of our holiday to Port Douglas and Cairns. The day trip to Fitzroy Island was awesome, and ran beautifully from start to finish by the guys at Raging Thunder. Half the price of similar tour options that wouldn't represent anywhere near as good value for money as this trip. A full day of snorkeling, kayaking, swimming and walking with return catamaran transfers and lunch included too for less than $75 per person!! Thanks guys, see you next time for sure 10/10!
