Great experience with the Extension Factory!
We are very grateful our extension was ready by Christmas as we can now enjoy more space to entertain our growing family. Our design consultant made the experience even better by keeping us informed at each stage. We recommend anyone who needs renovation work and/or an extension done on their home to use the Extension Factory.

Sent an enquiry to find out more about their process, pricing etc to complete an extension on my home. Got a call back the next day which was great. The lady booked an appointment for someone to come out and chat to us 3-4 weeks later. I asked for a call a day or so before to remind me of the appointment as I'm a busy business owner.

Got a call this morning from Scott Murdoch telling me he's outside my house and we had an appointment. I explained I asked for a call before hand to reconfirm as I'm busy and my schedule always changes and I was sorry I wasn't home. He comes back at me with I called you at 9.30 but you didn't answer. When I tried to explain that's not what i meant by reconfirming, he cuts me off and rudely asks Don't you have a diary!?

He then goes on to abruptly tell me the appointment was with myself and my wife and then asked in the most rude manner, Where's your wife then?!

Seriously unprofessional.

It is interesting to see these guys using their own contractors and community organisations they support to bump up their star rating.
The reviews from their customers tell a different story, one that from what I have seen, is an indication of how they operate, 1 star is generous.
They built the second floor too high and had to have the floor structure redesigned to make the stairs comply. They neglected to get the frame inspected by the building surveyor before cladding and plastering and were lucky that my partner had taken photos of the frame that the building surveyor could use to approve the build. The flow of work was mostly spasmodic with little to no continuity. The quality was low end and it is obvious why they leave the painting to others as you don't see how bad the plastering is until the paint goes on.
I know they will say my name did not come up in their database as the house is my partner's. I am just about to commence an extension/renovation and guess who I won't be using.

Been working on and off as a contractor with extension factory for almost a decade. Great communication all round from the head office to your project manager. All trades are expected to deliver a high standard, Project manager frequently inspect works to guarantee compliance and standards. Never had any issues with payment unlike a lot of other companies in the industry. All job sites I have worked on the client are always happy with the service they're receiving.

Would recommend to any job seekers or people looking to renovate.

Avoid this place at all costs!! Terrible service, shoddy work (absolutely everything needed repairing, more work), terrible communication with clients and neighbours. Doesnt deserve one star. Dishonest and shonky builders.

I'm really disappointed. Right off the bat , without even seeing the property or asking how big the house is for a two story extension , he quoted me a ridiculous amount of $240,000 for a two bedroom, living space and toilet upper story. May want to do your research.

First time renovator. Rang and spoke to a consultant regards to initial assessment of extension of 2 rooms to a single storey home. The guy was arrogant and rude. When I said I was on a budget he became disinterested at once. Told me it would be $120k for 2 rooms and then was unwilling to come to inspect and provide a more accurate quote. I then asked him about construction of a double carport to which he said will be $30k. This turned me off and I am glad I didn't proceed further. Stay away from this company. A friend of mine also rang these guys and said they were very expensive.

Our extending by this company is taking almost 1 year still not finish!!! What they care is only the payment, we have paid almost 95% payment, but still left a lot of job no done.as previous feedback said, promise after promise.

Having a 300k project with them, after having signature on the contract does not feel we are clients anymore. Seems we are a problem.
Having the 3rd project manager now. Drafting takes months. Promises after promises. Nothing happening for months in the house. No communication from the project manager only when I call them up.

Very disappointed. Got on the phone with their designer and not really happy with the way he kept bringing up the 7 % deposit. He sounded like we weren't really customers.
Also couldn't figure out what they do exactly for the 150k+ he said it will cost us. painting knocking down walls, needs to be done some One else? So what exactly do you guys do? Just the design?

Spoke to Natalie who wanted to get info about property in question. Basically they need projects which are more than 100K. I just don't want to feel obligated to spend that much so I just passed on them. I feel they are catering big clients who are willing to pay few 100K's. She kept on asking so whats your budget in a less than 4 minute call it was a major turn off. I wont recommend them as they are interested in making big $$$$

If you are seeking a transparent, consultative and honest builder then The Extension Factory are NOT for you. We were looking to extend our home quite substantially and we found our experience from the beginning through the whole consultative process to be very rushed, vague and extremely unprofessional. We were left with a very pricey invoice at no fault of our own.
The extension factory have a churn and burn mentality and I would never recommend them to any of our family or friends. So disappointing.
