Clean spacious room- a bit dated as youd expect from a heritage listed hotel, but good value for money. The worst thing was the parking - there is none and parking charges in the city are ridiculous.

I would NOT recommend this hotel ever!! It is run down and linen had rips and the shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Homeless people sleep outside the hotel. There was black mould growing out of the air conditioning unit. The shower was broken. Not a place I’d recommend for anyone with kids to stay the least. They refused to take responsibility for my missing security bond and told me it was my banks fault.

We stayed for 5 days. Mid range hotel. Very old. No security at entrance. Room is ok size. No complimentary mineral water. You need to hang the room service tag else they don't clean the room. Overall is ok if looking for cheap stay just for bathing and sleeping.

    Good Friendly
Staff. Big rooms hot showers and big beds. Wifi is almost non existent for me though and amenities are working but dated. Great location though since it's right smack in hay street and has convenience shop around. I don't mind staying again.

This hotel the room is not too bad to stay. But the problem is when you go out at night and you come back about 1 or 2 am the night shift staff he is really rude to the guest. His face shown unhappy to open the door for you and he got cranky. When I was there I went out at night time and he asked me that I would come back or not? I said yes I would come back about 30 minutes. He said that if he didn't answer the bells it's mean he is the toilet and he asked me to waiting outside the door until he comes back from the toilet. But at the time when I came back he was laying down on the lounge room and he ignored the bells I was standing outside the door about half an hour until other guests came to check out and he opened the door for them. I'm really upset and unhappy about this situation. I will never suggest anybody to stay there until the hotel management change the man staff at night shift.

Very basic room, plugged the jug in the bathroom , which needed a good clean. Mould in the shower, taps dripped, towel rail hanging off the wall. Batteries in the tv remote needed replacing, held in by gaffer tape. Stains on the bedspread and a burn mark on the chair. They ask $100 for bond, there was nothing in the room worth a $100! It's a shame it's being run down because you can see it was art deco style building should be renovated with care.

Unfortunately the current owners are running this historic building into the ground. Little maintenance appears to have been carried out recently. Great location

What a circus. It took me 30mins (no exaggeration) to register! The girl at the front desk was way out of her depth. She was simply incompetent. I'm still yet to receive my AUD 100.00 deposit, which according to their website takes 5 working days to refund. Yeah, right! That was 1 month ago. The only positive is that this place is well situated. Other than this fact, give this place miss.

One other gem. There isn't ANY room service on Saturday/Sunday, so good luck if you require your room serviced or fresh towels. The building itself is in dire need of a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting. There was a distinctly unpleasant odor throughout the building. I could describe it as a hint of mould/dust?

In summary, after my negative experience in checking in and the general state of the building, I shan't ever return.

Old looking and feeling hotel. Simple and comfortable. The location is tip top. A lot of places just walking distance away. Bus stop, park, river, restaurant, convenient store etc.

Reception area is poorly lighted and makes you feel you want to leave the place immediately.

Location is good since it's close to the city and shopping malls but So disappointed to know that this hotel has NO CAR PARK!!! just when we arrived in the hotel.

Staff are not that helpful too.
They wont even help you to bring your bulky and excess bags in your room.

Heaps of mosquitos in rooms and reception.
