The price is the enticing thing here, and the position. The hostel is a few blocks from the main train station, which is marks the start of the CBD and is in a very lively part of town. The toilet and shower facilities are kept scrupulously clean but the same cannot be said for the rooms, although they are not dirty. There is a staff member on duty 24hrs a day for security and assistance. A passing community service worker stopped to voulenteer to us that there were better places to stay nearby, for the same or similar money, and I think that this would undoubtedly be true.
Cool place to Stay a couple nights. Lots of space, so it doesn't feel crowded. Wi-Fi was really slow though
Dirty, Old, Smelly blankets and pillows, extremely old and creepy, super unfriendly and unhelpful staff, noisy during late hours, plenty of junkies sleeping in that hostel. The room looks worse than cells in jail. No aircon extemely hot and disgusting inside the room. My window was cracked, and flyscreen had wholes in it. It was the most disgusting hostel experience in my entire life. Don't trust any positive reviews, girls stay away
the brittania is not worth even 1 star but i have to give it 1 star bcoz to post this it requires a rating. the brittania is a feral hotel. Most of the staff are ill mannered and abusive. the kitchens are riddled with cockroaches and the staff take sides with thuggish regular customers over the customer that occasionally stays there, as what happened when i stayed there recently. i was attacked out in the street one night and returned to the brittania with a broken nose and black eye. i could barely see bcoz of my injuries and i used the lift to go to my room o lvl 2 and a shift worker had left his suitcases directly outside of the lift doors on lvl 2. as i could barely see i nearly tripped over them exiting the lift and nearly injuring myself further and when i complained about it there he followed me the whole way to my room assaulting myself verbally and physically and threatening me and when i complained to the staff they told me the CCTV wasnt recording and that i was the one in the wrong. i was mortified. i being a harmless Buddhist monk tried to defend myself and had no chance and the (manager) said get out and take your bags out or i'll throw them in the street. i wouldnt recommend that cesspit to anyone and id recommend that no nice folk should go there. its a putrid hotel
Great historic hostel. Great for meeting fellow travelers, however if you're just after a nice quiet place to sleep or read a book you can do this also. The best of both Worlds! 5 stars :D
Nice and cheap place to stay a few days in Perth.
Due to the location, it can get pretty noisy on some nights (weekends).
Everything else was great though. Friendly staff, place for valuables, and clean amenities.
Location can't be helped.
Cockroaches in kitchen
No free wifi
Very expensive
Not everyone in reception is friendly
Don't be happy with free wifi announcements
Weekly stays, inexpensive kitchen is fully equipped, the Internet, various types of rooms.
Good for computer access and cheap printing.
Average place to stay where you do not feel the friendliness showered by the staffs of this place. The room that we stayed was considered cheap but with no windows all around except there is only one ventilation fan on the wall. Isnt keen on returning stay.
Good Backpacker Accomodation. You get exacly what you pay for. Its clean but not quite modern.
