We've waited almost an hour for our food and nothing came. The waitress comes in after I inquired about our food to tell us it was just being made after a one hour wait! Very disappointing!! Improvements in customer survice should be made. Thank you.

Verdict:
The Sportsman's Arms is a blend of American and Irish-influenced dishes and they have an outdoor grill section which attracted us to order the burger and wings.

The burger had Monterey Jack cheese (American) and a special sauce, topped with fried onions. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the burger as it was very sloppy and difficult to eat. The burger patty wasn't anything special and the sweet potatoes were forgettable.

The chicken wings were definitely NOT on fire. Not even closethe "Cashel Blue Cool Dip", which is an Irish blue cheese, wasn't strong enough and didn't add flavour to the dish. Wings were cooked perfectly but overall their taste was average.

It's a gastropub that we've heard ALOT about, yet, we expected more from the food and the service was slow @TheSportsmansArmsZSC

One of my favorite places in Abu Dhabi - but not really a tourist draw. This is my "Cheers". The food is quite good, happy hour (licensed) offers a few specials before 7pm everyday, the staff are very nice. My only complaint is that the price is on the higher end so we don't visit as frequently as we would like. The place can be hard to locate if you have never been there. It seems desolate on non-sport nights and on sport nights, it seems crazy busy but don't let either atmosphere stop you. The restaurant is on the second level of the tennis building. A recent (2014) reno has the decor and atmosphere down perfect as an old British Pub. Lots of TVs playing sports and couches and booths and high top tables. There is a small children's play area outside on one patio near the couches area. The second patio is usually where BBQ and grilled foods are created (though in the summer, that is put on hold). They do a killer English breakfast too.
