We had a real nice experience at the Waterford. Waiter succeeded to find a table for us despite the fact we had no reservation. Wines were good and French fries are very delicious (I’m Belgian, trust me on this point 🤓). And on top of that, the estate is beautiful

Do the wine and chocolate tasting! What an incredible experience! The wine was outstanding and we were given a very cool behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. The staff is very professional and we were treated like gold. Thank you!

Waterford has always had a special place in my heart as it's so beautiful and their wines are also delicious, and I am glad to say that they have only improved since I last visited. This time around I took my wife for a her birthday to SALT @ Waterford and I can honestly say my mind was blown. Firstly, the restaurant makes perfect use of the picturesque courtyard with all tables positioned in such a way that you have a beautiful view of it. You can't not taste their wines when you visit so we decided on doing the tasting while we enjoyed our lunch. They have various tasting options available, however we decided on one with a wide variety of wine styles including 3 wines paired with artisan chocolates. Our lunch at SALT was just as awesome and a must experience for everyone. Everything we had was beautifully presented and super tasty! Standout dishes for us were the Swordfish, Hantam Rack of Lamb and the Grilled Beef Rib Eye, but you can't go wrong with whichever dish you end up choosing. Something which I also liked was the different salts available on the table for you to taste, as well as enjoy with your food. Our waiter, Greg, was amazing - from welcoming us at the door, to overall just being very friendly and attentive throughout our wine tasting and lunch, with his knowledge of the different wines being the cherry on-top. My wife and I would just like to say a massive thank you to Chef Beau du Toit and his entire team for making our experience at SALT @ Waterford so special and memorable.

The wine and chocolate pairing is a MUST!
An amazing experience. We were greeted by our server / guide, Andrew, who's service and knowledge was outstanding. Be sure to get a tour before you leave. I would HIGHLY recommend you make an effort to visit this winery!!!response / report this review -

Had the most wonderful time at Waterford Wine Estates yesterday where we did the ‘wine safari tour.’ The whole experience was made even more enjoyable due to our wine guide, Trent, along with his side kick, Pinot Noir, the dog!
Every question we asked, Trent knew the answer to.

We really loved this vineyard, the wines were incredible. Their wine ‘Jem’ is top 3% internationally and was very good. We walked through the wine making areas where they were actually making wine, de stemming, and mashing grapes - which made for a very unique experience. The service was also one of the best in the wineries we visited. Overall very authentic and enjoyable experience.

Great wine tasting, lovely scenery. Sasha helped us very good, explained everything about the wines really well and patience. We loved the Chardonnay as well as the chocolate and wine pairings. Not the cheapest one though, but it's worth it.

Wine tasting was acceptable, but nothing compared to other wineries as you couldn't choose what wines to taste. More of a show for tourists, not very authentic.
They really shouldn't focus on red wines in my opinion. The Sauvignon Blanc was excellent.response / report this review -

Absolutely love their wine and chocolate pairing. I also think their accompanying explanations are really good, but this might of course be depending on your sommelier/wine steward. Their tastings happen outside, which makes it also an excellent trip for a day out with nice weather.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere perfect for a lazy afternoon. The wine and chocolate pairing is sublime and the staff are well trained and pleasant. Big plus for winter snuggle by their fireplace The wines are exquisite although not a very wide variety there will be something for your taste.

Just awesome. Beautiful italianesque estate. Quite a few wines in the tastings, most of which I enjoyed. But my fav was the chocolate they have specially made to go with three of the tastings.. I bought extra. If you have only one winery to try in the area, make it this one.

This place deserves a 5 star for being one of the charmiest places that I have been on earth. If you want to score, bring you lady/dude here. It's amazing ho the atmosphere of love and tender touches your soul. There is a magic behind the wine tasting, specially the one that you taste 10 different wines.

This estate has beautiful views and the ambience is amazing. Being December the Christmas beetles are in full swing which adds to the experience. The music played in the background was soothing and perfect for the venue. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable at R60 for the wine tasting
