Walking distance from the beach, but sufficient parking bays available. There is a small pic nic area located at the entrance of the reserve and as you make your way in, you have the option of taking either 1 of 2 walking trails. It's recommended that you carry a water bottle with you to remain hydrated as it can get quite hot! Also, don't go if you don't have comfortable walking shoes. Unfortunately we did not get to finish the trail but hope to do so in future. Word of caution: there are a lot of monkeys so try not to carry too much food with you

Beautiful and majestic. Truly a peaceful experience! I walked alone and it was safe. Will not go there after dark though. Breath taking views and beaches . Dont be surprised if you find a few naked people on the beach yes there is a nude section. Just you know if you bring the kids. Dont freak out they are a bit further away to Umtloti side. But here you can relax and not be bothered by any vendors or other people for that fact you can see Durban in the distance and Umhlanga. So you are not to far away from civilization if you get scared of that sort of thing.

Stunning with a lot of construction work happening. Developing nicely and just might beat Durban cbd.

Not very busy like the rest of Umhlanga. You hike to the beach. Not a diffult walk. Even easy for kids. Pay R20 for parking and stay the whole day. There is a beautiful lagoon at the end of the walk

I frequently walk through this amazing place to escape from suburbia And I have to commend Enoch the sweet old soul that maintains the reserve by trimming the path and repairing the wooden bridges so we can enjoy the walk comfortablybut what I need to point out to other enthusiasts is he is extremely knowledgeable of the plant life, animals and birds in the reserve. Thank you Enoch ,for the respect you have for the reserve and for all your hard work.

A peaceful walk. Beware the gnats in summer.

Beautiful hiking path. However , the place is very quiet which makes it feel very unsafe in a Small group.

This nature reserve has nice little walks but it's smaller than I had hoped. Worth a visit though. It's very safe.

Awesome place. Great for nudists. Nice quiet trail to strip off on. Just watch for textiles. One you get to the beach it's a pleasent walk to the Lagoon where you can sun in the nude and swim in the ocean or the Lagoon. When there no textiles. We loved it.
