Impressed by the appearance of the "Hideaway" capable of sleeping 10. However when inspecting the batheing & toilet facilities attached to the bedroom with a bath, shower & toilet a resident was discovered: a cockroach of about 35 mms in length. Needless to say, it's residency terminated abruptly.
The following morning a smaller version was found top of the duvet in the bedroom I occupied. Perhaps it was lonely as it's Parent had recently become deceased? Later, the Manager told us the charge per night was ZAR800.00. Our thoughts to remain another night and we showered in what was to become a very shallow paddling pool. We departed leaving ZAR500.00 as settlement. The Owner's comments are invited
Very basic and rustic. If you in to rustic accommodation and the countryside then this is the place for you. Good for a weekend
Perfect getaway! Couldn’t ask for a better location. Right on the banks of the Tugela river. 5min drive from Spioenkop Dam and on the slopes of Spioenkop mountain. Bring your mountain bike, canoe and takkies.
Absolutely beautiful! Very rustic but a great place to unwind. Fun in the river, lazy afternoons and lovely walks makes this a wonderful break from city life. Great holiday for everyone including the furkids!
This is a great getaway for a weekend or even longer
One of those unique places you take your family to reconnect. No T.V, No Radio and No WiFi. Perfect opportunity to grab the family and go on a walk in the game farm across the road, bring your mountain bikes and ride parts of the famous Berg and Bush and Joburg2c trails or just relax and enjoy your families company whilst watching the African sun set
Very rustic. No electricity during the day. Generator for a few hours in the evening. Gas and/or donkey boiler for hot water. Beautiful view of the mighty Tugela River.
What a quit place!!!
