A great place if you wanting a break away from everyday chores. Friendly staff. Place is well kept. Its more for quite and relaxation.

Thw Nest Drakensberg Hotel is a beautiful getway and the tranquil environment is just what busy people need to de stress and relax. The full boards meals are excellent. The staff are great and the gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed the place and will certainly return. Thank you

Such great potential but i find it just falls short there are a few small things this place can do to improve. Firstlyif I. Staying there for a few days the waiter can get to know me,especially sinc3 its the same waiter each night. The food is not badBut there is a reason no one does 6 course meals anymoreit's a terrible waste. While we are on the topicgo easy on the garnish or decorations.every plate that came my way had this clover looking plant on it.regardless of what I ordered, eggs, pasta, fish.u name it and the little clovers came with it
If the building was maintained with as much care as the lawn that the lawn bowls is played on it would be so much better. A great start would be to paint the ceiling of the dining area Then maybe make sure all the curtain rails are the same height.
More deck chairs around the pool area would be nice.
The view is spectacular from some placesBut in other places u get a view of a rusty broken tractor and junk piled upresponse / report this review -

A 6 course meal worth R145 sounds like a great deal, right?
The very small, but expected, portions were not something to make a fuss about. But when you are served small portions of mediocre quality food in a rushed manner: now that's something to make a BIG fuss about.
The service was poor. We were refused biscuits: although we paid for it.
I would not recommend anyone to go here. Your money is worth more elsewhere.response / report this review -

We were recommended to come here for their 6 course dinner. It starts at 7pm and we arrived promptly after. Nice old style dinning room with good food and price. But from the moment we arrived we were RUSHED. They served each meal before we were even halfway with the previous one. The started packing up tables and chairs while we were having our dessert and it was only 8.30pm.

Beautiful setting in the Drakensburg. Meals are like an old style hotel with 4 or 5 courses. Very good lawn bowling greens and coaching. Ideal for vacations with canopy tours nearby and large variety of wild birds

Great for families and groups who enjoy outdoor activities. Large facilities available with many outdoor sporting activities, pool, volleyball, bowls, tennis courts, multiple outdoor lapas, great service!! And everything right by the Drakensberg mountain range.

The nest is still a traditional country hotel with a great set menu, but is in need of some fixing up and some staff training. Everyone is freindly, but not very competent.

Had the best experience here. Wonderful staff and they specially catered to my vegetarian diet. Even going so far as having the chef cook me separate meals. Wonderful people.
