If I could give a lower rating I would. The shower leaked all over the bathroom, the hot and cold taps in the shower were reversed so we were forced to have cold showers until we figured that out, the plug in the bath didn't work, the staff came to chase us out of the room even though we had let reception know when booking and checking in that we'd be doing a late check out, and the worst part is that my mom and I both left the hotel with spider bites all over us - my mom's bites are really bad and she had to go to our GP. The only positive were the friendly breakfast staff and the pancake machine.

I would have given them 4stars except the security at the gate are not very helpful. The hotel, restaurant, bed are just superb. You feel like you are in a somewhat luxurious home away from home. Will definitely frequent them if security personal are better trained on serving clients on my return.

aha Riverside Hotel is a beautiful and quite place in Durban North. They have a spa and a conference centre (if I may call it). Being there had a calming effect since it's quite a far distance from the city. It's clean and the staff is very friendly.

Lovely place to chill. Great vibes. Week days happy hour between 5-6pm buy 1 get 1 free drink. Only place in Durban. Lovely spacious, neat n tidy rooms with good views on the lagoon side encompassing blue lagoon, the beach, moses mabida stadium and the heart of Durban. Mini kitchen in your room is a great advantage.

Old hotel but we'll maintained. Good food options and service. Has a local pub on the premises as well. Rooms kept clean and good view of the river, city and sea .

The shower is awesome! The room spacious and cleanly decorated. Only thing lacking is a box of tissues by the bed.

Loved my 4 night stay, had all i needed and more, only bad things were WIFI and reservations but more than that all was as close to perfection as I would have hoped for. Nice family rooms and staff was just tops. Secure and ease of packing for your car if driving. Nice clean pool and eating area and yes never ending supply of food and drinks. Loved it.

The hotel has had ups and downs over the years and I have seen it go between a 3 star and 4 star from a food, room environment and facilities perspective. it is now consistently good for some time. stayed here mainly on business and very good location between central DBN and Umhlanga..Gym is offset to main property but decent.
