We stayed here for our honeymoon it was a pretty good hotel! The staff was friendly, the room was always clean, and it is centrally located in the Water Front area!

Good place, great location
We booked a suite so it was spacious, open plan areas, decent sized bathroom. It was walking distance to the V&A waterfront which was awesome. I wish we had access to the fridge though, it was locked so you can't add your drinks. I wish they would include the parking amount into the price of accommodation so you don't feel like you pay for parking. It's crazy to think that you pay R1000's of rands and at the end they make you pay R75 a day for parking!response / report this review -

Of all the hotels that I've stayed at around the world, the service at The Portswood has definitely been the best. All of the staff are very friendly, helpful, and clearly want to make your stay a positive experience.
The room was very clean, and the location/proximity to the V&A Waterfront ensures that you'll feel safe at all times.response / report this review -

You can't have only 1 iron for the whole hotelwe stayed here with a large group, and while the location was ideal, the amenities and service wasn't acceptable. One person in our group had a do not disturb sign up, that didn't stop the staff from entering the room, the wifi is severely metered, and irons were a premium.

Location was great, really close to waterfront . Rooms were pretty good unfortunately very noisy. The main thing that let's this place down its it service. Breakfast was good but the staff are not really interested in working. They rather stand and chat to each other then serve you a coffee. It could be a really good hotel with a bit of training and coaching.

Nice - nautical themed hotel, at the Waterfront in the old harbour area that has extensive and very well received rejuvenation - superb for the visitor. I felt the eatery side of things looked institutional in it's imagination - as a Cape Town resident I have not tried out the rooms but visiting family were happy for the duration of their stay

Stayed in a room on the ground floor. The staff are friendly and the rooms were comfortable. The location is ideal from the V&A waterfront.
