Nice hotel, nice clean rooms and bathrooms with a comfy bed but the service is really lacking for the hotel rating. Had issues with checkout and every time we ordered or ate at the hotel we had service issues or attitude

A dinner at their restaurant is something to be admired. The decor is calming but very welcoming. I was only visiting and did not book a room, but if I had, I feel I may have been pleasantly surprised. Absolutely worth a visit whether it's checking in, or sitting down for a hearty dinner.

Everything really good.only the pool is quite small for the size of the hotel. We ordered room service breakfast which was pretty good for the low price. In fact all of the room service items have really good pricing.I noticed the staff really helpful and friendly. The tv in the room is really small. Beds are pretty comfortable.

Great hotel but not with children. This hotel is best for corporate travelers & we saw lots of airline crew stay here. Our standard room had two queen beds & it meant it was cosy. The staff are very friendly & helpful. When we complained we could smell cigarette smoke in our room , they happily moved us to a new room & helped us relocate. The breakfasts are great & coffee really good. Dinners & room service are top quality.

Can be a better place
Check-in is at 2pm and I was there at 3pm. My friends room was not ready!!! Mine was ready but we had to wait an hour for the other room to be ready. Why is it fine for you guys to be late but yet we cannot check out later???
The receptionist was not friendly, or apologetic about the delay. Check out was also disappointing. Had to wait for a very long time before being assisted. I think that process can be better streamlined.
I was on the first floor and walking past the spa/gym area was not pleasant at all. There was an awful smell, probably also because of the toilets close by in the passage.
Other than those issues, I was happy with the cleanliness of the room, the free parking and the breakfast staff were amazing.

It is a good place to stay. City conference centre is at walking distance.
Saray, a turkish restaurant is nearby.
It is near to Victoria wharf, a water front.

Clean, friendly staffed hotel. Good security. Free Shuttle bus to the Waterfront. Large eating area that provides privacy. Wide range of food to choose, all cooked well. Comfortable reception area.

Well sited for the Waterfront but walking back in the dark on main roads, we were pestered by homeless beggars despite the presence of security personnel. Next time we took a taxi! Hotel itself fairly good, reasonable breakfast but mediocre buffet evening meal so we ate on Waterfront (lively and enjoyable experience) on other occasions. Small outdoor unheated pool and never saw anyone in it. A reasonable base to explore Cape Town and it's surroundings during the 3 nights we stayed.

Overall very positive experience. Minor issues with the maintenance of the room. Window didn't close properly and basin drain backed up a little. But other than that, it was comfortable, clean, and breakfast options were great.

We always have a great experience with Southern Sun Waterfront hotel, to us it has really become our second home my kids really love it here. We always look forward to visit during holidays, the Staff and the Service is Amazing. Thanks to the Management team, keep up the great job!!!

I stayed here when I was on honeymoon. The hotel was clean. The staff where excellent and everything was central for us. Great place to stay. Will stay here again when I'm back in Cape Town.

I stay with my family for 3 days. Good positiltion in the city. Clean and good in quality. Pool and shuttle to waterfront every 30 minutes. Room clean and completed but not so big with furniture and carpet not so new.

Standard double room of average level. Very good buffet for both breakfast and dinner. There is no real spa, just outdoor swimming pool and possibility of massage. The staff service not always at best.

The hotel is in the center of Cape Town, a 15 min walk to Waterfront. The accomodation is very nice, comfortable beds and a clean room. The quality of the food is above standard. One of the downsides of the hotel is the speed of the check-in.

honestly amazed at the exceptional level of care at this hotel. I had a small issue with my room and in a matter of 30minutes I had a new room, several people checked if the room was to my comfort and all while staff were super friendly and accommodating to my needs. special Thanks to Christo and Riaz. great service!

The Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel is a very nice hotel near the waterfront in Cape Town. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel have a shuttle bus to the waterfront which is very handy. Food is good and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Centrally located with access to all major attractions in CT. Hotel food was really great - try the beef fillet with tornados (piped mash) - it was divine! The hotel itself is luxurious and perfect for a city break.

One of my favourite hotels. Good location close to main roads and to tour Capetown. Shuttle service to waterfront therefor no need to find parking space. The shuttle will deliver you safe to the hotel after a night out in town.

Centrally located, you can walk to almost everything. Rooms are comfortable and the beds super comfortable. Have stayed here may times and have always been impressed.

An excellent place to stay. Located at the heart of Cape Town's finest attactions. There is a shuttle to the waterfront every hour with the last one leaving the waterfront back to the hotel at 1115 pm. Make sure you specify that you need a room on a non smoking floor. The smoking floors have a heavy tobacco smoke stench and would be uncomfortable to non smokers. We were lucky the staff changed our room promptly.
For a four star hotel their internet is ridiculously slow and there is a limit on usage. I don't get that
Altogether though it is a very good place to stay. And oh the breakfast REALLY.IS.SOMETHING
