My daughter and I had afternoon High Tea on the 16th of March 2018. I have never had such impeccable service in my life! The little eats were all scrumptious and I was delighted with every single one! The tea was beautifully presented. Thank you Loren Staine, you made me feel like a Queen!

Afternoon tea on the terrace at the "Nellie" is one of life's greatest pleasures. A range of different teas is offered that you will not find anywhere else, expertly delivered to the table, with a tiered collection of savoury delights, and an endless buffet of sweet things inside. This is something that we do at least once a year.

Went for high tea and it was wonderful. A grand selection of the finest quality teas. The sandwiches and savory food is unlimited and fabulous. And the tables of luxurious and mouth watering cakes for all tastes. A must visit if ever you visit cape town.

Mount Nelson was truly amazing from the minute we walked through the entrance where the concierge opened the doors and welcomed us with a beaming smile to the staff who were attentive throughout our visit. We attended a high tea celebrating a friends 60th birthday and I loved that we could be accommodated even though we were only 5 at the table. The selection of teas on the menu was quite unique and I loved the personal touch where the staff member brought the tea and infused it in the pot for me. I would highly recommend Belmond Mount Nelson for any elegant event you wish to host.

Marios Hair Salon is one of the best in town. Managed by 1 of CPT's well renowned hair specialist, Doddy. He speaks French & English. The place is super clean, the staff ever so professional yet friendly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, with no request too much. Rooms were spacious and we'll appointed. The grounds around the hotel are well maintained, and breakfast is had looking out over the pool

We went for afternoon tea and it was FANTASTIC! Our waiter Craig was amazing. He provided us great recommendations and was immensely knowledge about the teas and walked us through everything. We basically had our lunch here because the savories and sweets were so delicious; I couldn't get enough of the pastry puffs with some kind of cream or the biltong sandwiches. If you have the time, plan to go!

The high tea is absolutely amazing!

Think infinite tea, hot chocolate, cakes, savory snacks, amazing pastries, fruits, the whole thing! We went there for my friend's birthday and gosh did we have a good time. Not to mention the beautiful hotel and gardens. You feel like you're on holiday when you're sipping tea and chatting to good friends.

This hotel is great. It features everything a 5 star hotel needs and even tops that.

SERVICE
the service was probably one of the best parts of the hotel, and no, they don't just du all of it for the tip. You really get a lot of insight into the hotel and even if something is wrong they will help you. Waiters and so we're also very good. We went to the tea party when a person encountered us. He probably had a degree in tea-science. He told us everything about tea, where it came from, to why putting sugar in your tea means you're wealthy. Funny person.

FOOD
The tea was probably the best part of our whole South Africa trip. I would fly 10,000 miles just for having that tea again. The sandwiches, the cheesecake, and the other buffet items here give you the feeling of being a super posh family in the 1910's. Yet, the cheesecake, for example, was the best bet cheesecake I have had in my life. And you will notice that as well, booking a tea session will be an experience you won't forget. We also tried in room service but it was mediocre, yet enough for the night and we were satisfied.

AMENITIES
They have an indoor pool which, to say the least, was acceptable. We didn't go in because we went to the mount Nelson in south African winter, but It was heated but not enough for us to be able to go in. The tennis court was lightened, the spa was good, it had good personnel and different soaps and other cleaning lotions available with a massage center. The gym had everything a gym needed, yet we were very disappointed it had no indoor pool.

Overall, this is an experience I won't forget. You will not either, and so won't the people going with you.

I went to High Tea for my birthday and was really impressed with the selection of treats and tea's. Needless to say it was SUCH a treat. Our waiter was fantastic and the decor so beautiful, such a cozy vibe, perfect for a wet, grey winter day in Cape Town. I definitely recommend everyone and anyone tries High Tea at least once in their life time.

High Tea at The Mount Nelson is a once in a lifetime experience, you'll not be disappointed with their comprehensive selection of savory, vegetarian and sweet buffets not to mention the selection of teas and coffees from around the world. Superb service to match the dishes. Definitely one for the bucket list!

What a fantastic place for afternoon tea; Cape Town's version of The Ritz for sure. Amazing service, great food/tea/cake, in a very nice setting. Pricey but well worth it.

Went for High Tea with the family and have to say that we really loved the place. Food was fantastic and the teas on offer were great (Earl Grey Blue Flower my personal favourite. The food never seems to stop and the selection is really good. The only issue that i had is that the family wanted to sit outside (fine in normal circumstances) and it was running in the early 40's (Celsius) which is a bit on the hot side for me.

If you are in the area its defiantly worth it. Dress standard is typically of a higher standard but we did see people dressed in a more casual style.

This is a gorgeous and historic hotel. Everyone who visits Cape Town should go see it and take in the beauty and emotion associated with the Mount Nelson. High tea is delectable and is a very special experience. I didn't even like tea at the time and I liked this tea! The pastries and sandwiches are yummy. Good for all occasions, but people do tend to dress up a bit fancier. There is some really nice outdoor seating as well.
