When you choose to stay at the Gorge Private Game Lodge, you choose Peace of mind, Quality time, & Luxurious lifestyle. Everything is on point excellent 👌 I can go to The Gorge over and over and over again. The service is more than the word excellent it's out of this world. I've never seen such excellence. Gosh I'm out of words.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a mini break for a few days to celebrate Valentine's this year. We do not regret choosing The Gorge Private Game Lodge for this trip.
When we arrived at location we were met by two gentlemen at the car port, one carried our bags to our villa and the other welcomed us with a warm smile, called us by name and offered us chilled sparkling wine and cool hand towels. This set the tone for our stay. No request was too big, the staff go above and beyond for each guest. Our needs were anticipated and taken care of with such ease. When we left the room for dinner we would find the place neatened up, curtains drawn, fresh gowns and slippers on our beds as well as a small gift from the lodge.
My husband had requested a romantic turn down on our first night which the staff executed beautifully, wonderful surprise for me.
There's no way to describe the food other than fine dining at it's best, sumptuous meals in generous portions. The bar is also very well stocked.
We also enjoyed the couples spa, restaurant and just sitting in the jacuzzi.
We took a day for activities at the neighbouring Lake Eland.
We made many wonderful memories in this place and look forward to going back some time in the near future.response / report this review -

This is 5 star from the moment you arrive. Attention to detail and little touches are what set The Gorge Private Game Lodge and Spa apart.
We celebrated my husband's 50 birthday here and nothing was too much trouble.
Preferences were asked about before hand thus the carrot cake 🤗 and personalised mini bars in the rooms.
It was a cold day when we arrived so hot chocolate and a hot facecloth on arrival were welcomed.
We started the celebrations with a bottle of Champagne in their magnificent bar area which has floor to ceiling glass allowing extensive views of the Gorge and even the vultures circling. The wine list is extensive.
Then it was on to the Lunch cafe on the verandah overlooking the rim flow pool.
Food was yummy and again an extensive wine list and nicely finished off with a magnificent Carrot Cake, generously decorated with fresh fruit, made especially by Lungi for the birthday boy! An eyepiece and a taste explosion.
Then it was time to put the Spa to good use with full body massages the choice. The spa therapists were all outstanding I could have stayed there forever!
Then there was only time to head back to our luxurious rooms and clean up for pre-dinner drinks and dinner.
The crackling fire welcomed us to the lounge area for pre-dinner drinks before we were taken through to Catharina's on 15 for a sumptuous dinner. The name of the fine dining restaurant has been named in honour of the owner, Catharina, who has been instrumental in turning The Gorge into the Crown of the South Coast. 15 being the lot number of the farm the restaurant is on.
Dinner was an absolute treat as one would expect from a top venue. Amuse bouche to start and sorbet palate cleansers between meals all add to the fine dining experience.
Ports and cappuccinos taken in the lounge area to round off the evening before heading back to the rooms.
The rooms are huge with everything that opens and shuts.
Breakfast was in Catharina's. A wonderful selection of pastries and hot meals. Nothing is run of the mill and highly recommended.
There is nothing negative to say about The Gorge but don't take my word for it go and experience it for yourself you will thank me.
The staff are such an asset and the service is on a level not seen anywhere. Unobtrusive, friendly, warm - just awesome!
Cars are washed before you head off, contemplating your next visit!

Amazing view overlooking the gorge: 5/5. We stayed at one of the private villas..just breathtaking! large rooms / clean/ comfortable.
Staff: 4.5/5. friendly / helpful. However they were not well informed about the details regarding the dinner menu.but the chef came and explained it pluss he gave us a tasting sample.
Spa: 3/5. defiantly room for improvement and renovation is needed. Treatment rooms are small not that comfortable beds. I couldn't find a changing room or a shower. The treatment it self was OK.
However I highly recommend this place. U will love it.response / report this review
