  Friendly hosts Jacobus and Niska made our stay at Vuna Valley a great experience. Our accommodation (Beach) was comfortable and clean with a beautiful view of the Transkei mountain range. Thank you for an very enjoyable stay. Can't wait to visit Vuna Valley again.

  I travel a lot and often sleep in overnight accommodations but have never experienced the personal attention and friendly service I experienced as a backpacker these last eight days. The proprietors really go the extra mile to satisfy everyone's needs, and even unreasonable demands. Jakobus and Nishka are really worth supporting and one will go far to receive better personal service. We will most certainly recommend them to anyone who enjoys good value for money and the freedom to do your own thing in the self catering kitchen. We will be back for sure.

  Wonderful, away from the city accommodation. Owners are wonderful people who are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are still under development status can't wait to see the finished product. Offering 4 double bed rooms with a shower and bath. 2 family accommodation rooms and a 8 sleeper Dorm with a huge shower, basin and toilet. Yes there's a pool. A few min drive from the nearest beach.

  Vuna Valley Lodge was recently taken over by new management and refurbished. The room was clean with new linen and had been freshly painted. Although the lodge is geared to the affordable market the service was sharp and the hosts welcoming. The new addition of a reataurant Samango Lounge offers a different.dimension. and the food was exceptional with particularly enticing dishes for vegetarians and vegans. My only gripe is the condition of Pont Road where the potholes from last year have still not been repaired

  We booked at Vuna Valley for the dates 23/12/2016 to the 28/12/2016. The pictures on the website are very different to the real experience. it is actually VERY deceptive. The website advised that we would have access to wifi, and DSTV, however when we got there this was not the case and they advised that the telephone lines were down. On inquiring why we were not advised, Sarah very abruptly stated (with no apology), that its not their fault the lines are down. These lines have been down for some time, however we were told by the other gentleman that they actually did not have wifi at all (this is advertised on tripadvisor and their website) if they are lying, then they need to be consistent with their lies as that is how we caught them out on a few things they mentioned. we then asked why were we not advised of this as they had a few calls from our group and this could have been mentioned at any time, along with mentioning that in some rooms there is just netting instead of glass windows, the place is full of scorpions so it is not ideal.
  
  Also when we got there, there was no water. We do understand that this was an area problem, however once again common courtesy dictates that the tenant are advised of this so we could have brought some water with, but once again we were abruptly advised that this was not their fault. We had to buy water there which is additional expenses as had we been advised in time, we could have brought with.
  
  The telephonic pleasant Sarah was no more. The hosts were rude and inconsiderate when we asked about things like the wifi, dstv, electricity (which also went off while we were there).
  our family had basically driven 8 hours to find a place with no water, no working aircons, no dstv, no wifi, and the place looked nothing like the website, we felt duped. then the electricity went out. the owners showed very little consideration for the 21 people they were hosting, we had not way of having a bath, cooking a meal. Eventually we had to force them o buy us candles and water, as the attitude we received was that it "was not their problem."
  
  We also confirmed the air conditioning in some of the rooms and this was confirmed over the telephone that this was sorted, however on arrival this was then found to be not the case and a technician had to be called to sort this out.
  
  The showers in some of the rooms were not functioning properly and either burnt you or froze you at intervals. The showers gas also had to be filled so we had 2 days of cold water when the water came back on.
  
  The bed linen is old and the pictures are totally deceptive.
  
  The central area smelt stale and had not been aired for a while.
  
  The gas stove ran out of gas.
  
  The full time we were there they were coming in to fix aircon, so no privacy and they were constantly in and out.
  
  also be wary, the yard is not well looked after. A palm tree leave fell on the car and broke a tail light. the owner told us that it is not their responsibility and we should have parked elsewhere. Not sure where that "elsewhere" is since the palm trees are over the parking area.
