If you live close enough this should be your local bar. Good place to take old friends for a nice drink and a decent meal. They have tank and craft beer and a wide selection of drinks. The meals are hearty and portions leans toward generous. They are in Capetown and subject to the early closing rules, so get there as early as possible. The place has a relaxed atmosphere and should put a smile on your face.

This place is a hidden gem to some. It has a great atmosphere. The food is amazing. There is games nights and comedy nights on certain nights. You can watch sport on the televisions. There's a smoking section.

1 of 3 of the oldest pubs in Cape Town and a destination venue for anyone visiting the mother city. With classic and consistent pub fare and several local and international beers on tap, this establishment has got it right and managed to keep it that way for longer than many have walked this earth. You are guaranteed to meet an interesting mix of people here and make some new friends as the seating becomes very intimate when the pub fills up. Some call it a bit grimy and in need of a makeover, but then again that's what adds to its charm.

Great place to hang out with friends and have a beer and watch the big game. It gets really busy so I would suggest you make a booking well in advance for those big games. Best beef ribs I've ever had, falls off the bone and it is very reasonably priced. Food is really good in general. Parking area across the road for easy parking.

Went for a quiz night. Had lots of fun however the food was absolutely diabolical. I wouldn't recommend eating the lamb shank (unless you want diarrhea for a few days).

Busy during sports matches. Drinks on the pricey side. Food amazing and we'll priced, and chef not shy with the portions.

Not a bad selection of beer. Great for groups and a fun time as it can get quite loud. Food isn't that cheap but it is delicious.

Great place with historic ambience. Original premises going back to the 1800's. Nice beer selection. Good staff. Eisbein to be recommended as are the beef ribs. Pizza got a double thumbs up from the wife.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was allot cleaner and well run that what I first thought. Food was surprisingly nice. My biggest peeve about this place was the lack of optimising their seating places. A group of 6 people took up 3 tables capable of seating 18+ people.

I think I decided I was going to like this place several years ago when one rainy, windy day I was greeted by a brass plaque on the door that read "In 1842(?)on this site nothing happened." Fabulous pub atmosphere, laid back and casual, fascinating memorabilia on all walls, perfect for anyone missing Christmas at home in UK!! Every customer welcomed by a smile and greeting by bar staff. Favourite place to sit Dusty's corner, cosy and entertaining watching the door to the bathroomyou'll have to go if you want to see why!! Only one disadvantagethe owners appear to be Arsenal supporters! Ah well..I guess you can't have everything.😂
