Small restaurant, but great quality food. Great cosy place. Sit inside or outside. Outside is nice as the small gullies carry water through the old streets of stellenbosch. They make the most amazingly tasty cakes, which can be ordered for parties too. I will recommend the Bird Cage to anyone who wants to be surprised by the hidden away restaurant/bakery.

Fabulous to be able to sit outside in the warm autumn weather.
    Ambiance is peaceful and gentle.
Best cuppacino I've had in a very, very long time and my mom had normal Ceylon tea, but said it was sooooo good.
The freshly baked goods, i.e. scones and croissants are devine!
Great for browsing for gift type items too.
(Even the rest room is a delight!)

We went for a late breakfast. Probably our own fault for going so late as there was no croissants or even scones left. Were looking forward to having some.. still think they could have managed to have enough as the place wasn't even so full. Overall good experience. Had a much better experience previous time visiting

A friend of mine told me about this place, so we tried it out today. I can proudly give them a 5-star rating. Had a good and easy accessible table, our waitress was friendly, informed, and gave us diligent service. I was expecting quite a hefty bill with the treats we ordered, but to my surprise they were right on par. Not something you find every day in the Cape Town food/entertainment industry. The cupcakes were fresh, well balanced taste, even for something like a lemon meringue or a rolo cupcake. Amazing coffee, made the way it should be!! All around a great coffee shop or restaurant for a nice meal!

The food is not the typical food and is really refreshing, amazing cakes and drinks, and no it's not just for women

Family and I came here for Youth Day for brunch. Lovely decorated restaurant cafe with 2 floors. A fairly large selection of eats to choose from as well as a wide variety of breads to have including coconut bread which is a must try. Their scrambled eggs with bacon and avo in a croissant is delicious and one I would definitely recommend. Great Place, great food and trendy vibe.

What a wonderful surprise tucked away in an alley of Stellenbosch's center. Ordered standard breakfast fare and was blown away by the presentation, flavours, and food quality. Also, a great ambience for small groups and attentive service. Highly recommend!

Simply the most divine cheesecake in the world. From the plain baked variety, to the Oreo-crusted wonder, if it was all they served I would still travel cross country simply for the chance to taste it again.

This is my favourite breakfast spot. It's the whole package, very cute, good service, and great food. But don't forget to leave with some cakes and sweets, that's the best part. On the days they have Macaroons on display, buy them all.

A quaint little spot hidden away from the main street. Perfect as a intimate setting with quirky decor and a lovely stream flowing right next to it. Really great coffee!!

Fantastic place to sit and have breakfast, for tea and cake. Great variety of deserts and food options. Food is above average priced, however worth the extra few rand. Vintage feel, very hipster vibes.
