Beautiful secluded getaway hidden behind the majestic Rawsonville Mountains. Peace and tranquility reign supreme. Perfect for an easy getaway from Cape Town.

NO LOUD MUSIC - well only if you are camping. However having a liquor license to sell till 02h00 with CASH BAR till 02h00 - my family had to endure loud music from 16h00 till 02h30 from a wedding. NO WARNING BEFOREHAND AND NO SORRY. If you like to rave or have a wedding maybe but for a tranquil weekend NEVER. If I knew this beforehand I would have stayed in Cape Town. THIS PLACE WILL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN - EVER.
O and do not complain or try - the owner could care less. Unfortunately one have to click on a star I would rather give 💩 without a smile.response / report this review -

Highly recommended, Oom Ed Chalet neat clean and tidy, everything you need to make your stay pleasant and comfortable can be found in the chalet.
Camp sites I visited very clean and I love how its situated alongside the river
Staff very pleasant and helpful always a smile on their faces

Definitely a hideaway between the mountains. Spectacular views and genuine quiet is what makes Dwarsberg a hidden gem. Camp sites are separate providing absolute privacy. The ablution facilities at the camp sites is top class and the cottages is very cosy. What a wonderful place to spend some time to unwind.

A beautiful setting close to a babbling river. The accommodation is simple, but comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the electric blankets on all beds. It gets really cold at night, so that was very welcome. The cottage we stayed in (Tante Kappie) was an old stone cottage and looked like something out of Goldilocks & the 3 bears. My toddler loved it. The layout is a bit odd, but charming. You shower in an old fireplacethat was interesting! (it's tiled and has amazing hot water and good pressure. A really good shower actually!) The river side is lush and green, we took our breakfast out there one morning. A really great find at a great price!! I would love to visit again in summer so my son can swim in the river - he was dying to!

Historic cottages fully equipped on a nicely kept guest farm hidden away in a valley in the mountains. Plenty of hiking routes. Also very private camp sites on lovely green grass and shade.

We camped at site 3. I wish it was more available as I think I would go there once a month. It is such a beautiful, pristine campsite. The ablutions are amazing as they are for your site only. Your site basically has two of its own Wendy houses that have been kitted out as bathrooms. They are so clean with ample space for toiletries and clothing. The grass is so lush, we didn't even use our groundsheets. There is a swing to entertain the kids and the shallow, flowing river is crystal clear and right I front of the lawn so you can see kids all the time. It's not a social campsite in that you won't meet other campers but you can create your own social situation by inviting a few other families as the campsites accomodate large numbers and a few tents. Campsite 3 could easily a comodate 4 families. Highly recommended But would prefer if you didn't book so that we could get a booking more easily 😂

I have camped here on several occassions.
Really lovely private campsites with your own ablutions on each. Each campsite is not adjoined to the other sites so you have wonderful privacy.
Very popular at the weekends and booked up long in advance, but if you are fortunate enough to be able to camp during the week, you can usually get in at the last minute.response / report this review -
