Good quality food and fine service. Bit hot and stuffy inside. Pork potstickers are a winner.
Casual cosy restaurant with good service & friendly staff. Recommend vegetable spring rolls that is freshly prepared, sizzling calamari that is succulent, fresh prawn chow mein & the succulent ribs. Still need to try the popular duck !
VERY expensive takeaway!! R110 for Chicken with cashews and there were literally less than one chicken breast of meat and about 6 broken up cashew nuts but LOTS of (cheap) veggies. Only takeaway worth the money was the sweet and sour chicken otherwise lot of money for very little!
Had a great meal at Tai Ping. Good authentic Chinese cooking with delectable, mouth watering presentation! A 'must -go-to' venue for a pleasant aunthentic experience!
Enjoyed our meal thoroughly. The roast duck and "dong bo pork" as well as the honey garlic ribs are my favourite - highly recommended
Is the best chinese restaurant to order. The service is very good.
Courteous service from one of those rare places that are not linked to corporate franchises. Food was good, little old China hidden in Newlands
The Entertainer app customers be warned, they do not honor the special offer on their set menus while this is not communicated in their information page. Only when you want to pay it is mentioned in the fine print on the page where you have to enter your code. Very deceptive and dispiriting.
Good Chinese food. Service was pleasant.
Lovely quiet little place. The food is really great. I had the deboned sliced duck with oyster sauce and egg noodles. The duck was absolutely Devine, succulent and tasty and my wife had the Kung Pu Beef which was also great. The service is good and personal. I recommend it to all.
Unfortunately we cannot say our experience with Tai Ping was great. Some work could be done on the general atmosphere of the place, as the bright lights and overall decor make it unfitting for an elegant dining experience. We found the prices to be unreasonably high, and these prices we certainly not justified by the food. The portions are small and to be quite frank, the food did not taste good. The food seemed off, and our rice certainly was not fresh. It is very unlikely we will go here again.
Tai Ping looks really nice from the outside, and their decor gives you the impression that you are entering into an authentic Chinese restaurant- Really lovely decor
However, the restaurant was quiet, and it was a Thursday evening- but no other customers. Everything on the menu was really expensive, and the portions did not match the prices.
I would not recommend eating here.
Great food.
Only had take-out but always satisfied with the quality
I ordered a 4 course meal for 14 friends and family from Colin and his staff for a birthday celebration!
Each dish was absolutely delicious and I can only recommend this lovely restaurant and their take away service.
Kind regards,
Erica
We ordered Chicken cashew nut and they used McCains mixed veg. Was disgusting and over priced. Eish. Never again
Don't get a pre set meal, or meal in general. Overpriced and poor service. They also don't know what egg fried rice is
