The owner if this bussines is a lier he will send your bike back to you before checking there is oil in the gearbox .. he will tell you everything is fixed and the bike is ready to ride .. What type of mechanic doesn't check if there is oil in the engine before test driving your bike ? Not only does he not reply or answer to calls on the work line but he takes 3 months to get back to you with your bike in more of a dangerous state then when you fetched it this is what I have experienced and I would highly advise not ever going to this place they will rip you off and send your bike back to you in a dangerous state .. they didn't even know how to tighten my chain seriously the worst service and biggest Rip off I have ever experienced thanks for nothing stellenbosch bikes!!!

I would not even rate Stellenbosch bikes since what I experienced isn't something I would wish on anyone.

When the receptionist and I made a list of what needed to be done, I said that either the starter motor/rectifier/wiring harness is broken/not working and that they needed to test it and then give me a invoice on what needs to be fixed/replaced.

After two weeks I was notified that the rectifier needed to be replaced, and I said that's fine, but firstly I want to know what it would cost and got no response (talking to the receptionist).

After the third week I was called and told that the starter motor is kaput and needs to be replaced and that Herman couldn't find another starter motor that would fit, thus they told me I need to make a plan. I drove through to belville to find out from startline and the chinese motorcycle parts shop if they had a replacement motor that I could use but none would fit onto the previous mounting points. So the only option was to go to a auto electrician and let them test it and rebuild if necessary. The auto electrician tested the motor and said there was nothing wrong with it so I took it back to Herman.

Herman kept insisting that the auto electrician had to have done something to the starter motor since now it worked like a charm when jumpstarting the bike from a fully charged external battery and now I had to apparently buy a new battery(hearing all this over the phone because every single day that I popped by Stellenbosch bikes Herman was out "getting parts in Cape Town").

After getting irritated by the fact that the receptionist can't relay a message to Herman and that Herman was never at the shop, I told them that I do not want to wait another two weeks for them to inform me that something is broken that I already stated on the day that I took my bike to them.

The next day I got a sms saying,"Marco as j bike km hal kan j cash bring asb R845 ons kaart machine offline. Stellenbosch Bikes" and directly after that I got a call from the receptionist telling me I need to come fetch the bike.

To my "surprise" when I got to Herman on the same day and they tried to start the bike by jumpstarting it from the external charged battery the same problem as day 1 occurred and Herman immediately told me that the bike started without a problem earlier on.

They charged me double what you would pay for at startline for the rectifier and also for a hours labour when they only replaced a rectifier on a supermoto (which takes two minutes).

I will never ever go back to them since the only one with knowledge about bikes is barely there, the receptionist is incompetent since she can not even relay a message to her boss, and they take two weeks to tell me something is broken that I told them was possibly broken on day one.

Do not go here. Receptionist is utterly incompetent. (Not that she does anything given she delegates all her duties.) Motorcycle repair (ordering and installation) was supposed to take 6 weeks. I ended up waiting 14 weeks to eventually get my bike back due to the fact that they simply didn't place the order for the first 6 weeks my bike was there. (I e-mailed multiple times and came in personally on a number of occassions during this time to check in and affirm that they were ordered.) Service is good apart from the fact that they charged me for new spark plugs at a service but never actually replaced them - I found out as soon as I went to an actual Suzuki Service Centre. As soon as I got it back from that initial service with them, I started having an issue with the bike dying under power. Herman told me that they couldn't find the issue. One trip to another Suzuki repair centre and they found out that it was that the air intake was filthy because Herman didn't clean the air filter properly - even though he charged me for it. They also do not get authentic parts for your bike. They put pirate oil filters in my bike. Will never ever go here again nor recommend anybody go here, I went here for a year and it was an absolute nightmare every time. Terrible.

Even after seeing the bad reviews I visited Stellenbosch Bikes. Herman is a knowledgeable, welcoming person who has an amazing repair shop. While we quickly chatted about servicing costs and maintenance, He was kind enough to fix up some loose parts on my SRX He's very helpful and willing to share his knowledge or contacts regarding other repairs and supplies. Grateful to him for showing me how to strip my bike and save on labour costs. Will continue to travel out of my way and area to visit this shop.

Got there because my gearbox was making grinding noises, and I couldn't start the bike with my kick-starter. Told me that "they can't look at the bike till tomorrow", when I said it's urgent. Don't ever go to this place, they're absolutely useless, they didn't even bother to take a look. Pathetic!!!!

I will never again visit Stellenbosch Bikes. I had the world's worst service!
I was phoned to pick up my motorcycle after its service and that everything is in order. When I got there, they showed me my motorcycle and started the engine for me. I didn't take the motorcycle for a test drive, because they assured me that everything was done as it was supposed to be done. So I made the payment in good faith. After getting the keys and getting on the bike, I only drove 1km before I realised that the bike was in fact not serviced as they said. So I took the bike back to them and confronted them about the bike not being in a drivable condition.
Since then I had to phone them more than once to follow up on the service (after they promised to phone me with an update). And it has been almost a week since I've made the payment and still no motorcycle.
