As others in the reviews are warning, be very cautious when traveling via train during off-hours -- not a lot of security on-site and muggings are not unheard of. The transit aspect of this station is fine. Cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired.

As a child I remember we used to take the train to this station and it was not this messy as it is nowadays. I would NOT recommend tourists take public trains anywhere - I have been mugged myself and robbed and I definitely do NOT recommend taking any train trips here.

Despite being nicely renovated a few years back the station is grimy and run down. There is not a lot of security around - which is worrying. This facility could be a major plus for tourism but instead it is a place I would recommend tourists avoid unless they are pretty hard core tough travellers. The taxi rank on the upper level is a scary spot and the dirt and litter there shocked me. I don't think the people who run the rail company ever catch trains. A sad state of affairs that local and National government should sort out urgently.

The information are not very clear (which platform is which train) and they automatically sell you a MetroPlus ticket (more expensive) ifyou do not ask specifically for a Metro ticket. The train to Simon's Town was nice and very really enjoyed the views.

This is one of the worse services in cape town. No one is safe. Delays and cancellations without cause or announcements. I've had to jump multiple time off trains as it got stuck between stations don't get me started on overcrowding
Some of the staff is cold and treats commutters like nothing

It's the most unreliable transport service and has ruined many opportunities for me. Sadly it is the only affordable alternative. Btw do not travel off peak in dangerous areas. The threat is real.

Online contact details are very hard to find plus trying to get any legit info online especially from a mobile phone is impossible. All I want is a comprehensive timetable from cape town to wolesely, am I missing something!?

Safe if you are not stupid. Machines are sometimes broken. You get really great staff but those at the tellers lack life.

The bus station and the rail station are next to each other. For best bus prices, go to all the bus ticket sellers and ask them for best price. There are about 5. Porters helping you with luggage shouldn't charge you more than R30. Avoid Intercape like poison unless you want to listen to religious preaching g for your entire journey. Metro rail has off peak fares after 9 and before 2. You can buy before 2 and use them after 2.

Terrible. Utterly useless. The trains don't run on time, if they even run. The place is filthy and the staff both know absolutely nothing about their job and couldn't care less.

Cape Town government always praises the efficiency of the city. I find this to be just a stunt. On a recent trip on board the train I was subjected to a 2 and half hour wait. With no consideration from the station to alert passengers as to what the delay was. It's unfortunate that those who cannot afford anything other means of transportation need to use this mode of transport. The Guatrain is far more effective pity it doesn't exist in the Western Cape.

Whoa i don't know where to start, your train are terrible, always late Am not sure if there's lot of traffic even in trains but bru what i notice is there's lot of stop en go😏.
