The place is clean bt the smell of carpet is not nice if they can remove it everything wll be fine
I have never stayed at such a poorly maintained place. Entering at the reception, a very unorderly area greeted us; from the reception desk to the tea and coffee area. Our room had a mouldy stench and walls covered in mould and dust. No towels on arrival. Toilet light malfunctioning. Aircon cutting out all the time; door's mechanism also needs a fix. Bedlamps out of order.
Wifi also on and off 😣 Thank God we only needed one night's accommodation. Will definitely not be returning and will definitely discourage anybody to book at Sun1 Durban. Very disappointed guests.
Nice and cheaper place to book but car guards are extreme
Affordable accommodation. Next to a busy bus station. Limited channels on the TV. Bath towels tiny. Parking paid to a third party.
Ok the staff WOW Snethemba and the other gentleman ( my apologies I forgot his name) where very helpful, friendly and very polite. The way they spoke to us as clients was very refreshing, they didn't get tired even when we asked a lot of questions the cleaning ladies and the ladies working at the reception they were all very friendly and eager to help when needed. Issa 10 out of 10 for me
1st room had a broken toilet door, 2nd try, room had no lights, 3rd time lucky. in the end we had a hot shower and a bed with clean sheets, but we won't be staying again
The receptionist simphiwe was good to us and also Thula the cleaner
I love the service but hat3 their rooms how they use gadgets like using old stuff
clean place nd affordable
Booked here once, clean quality rooms at affordable prices
Terrible conditions. Parking is a problemand expensive. Service desk is useless
Amazing design. Modern. Nice and clean.
Friendly staff.
Rooms are clean.
Cosy.
A busy place. Convinient to the beaches
Nice Place. With 150mb wifi access
Basic accommodation, don't expect much from staff
For the price you pay, its not worth it. The TV has only 2 channels… if you're lucky. The rest of the time it is stuck on the OVHD promo channel. The aircon only goes down to 18 degrees, and then you hardly feel a difference. The shower sprays everywhere accept where it is supposed to. The Hotel is definitely due for a serious upgrade. Stayed in SUN1 PE recently and my experience there was 10 times better.
I stayed here when it was still called Formula 1. A week was reserved for me here as we visited Durban for the first time in my Grade 7. It's very convenient. It's about 5-10 minutes drive away from the Ocean. It's not really close to anything amusing except for the Durban Bus Station in case you arrive late at night or arrive very exhausted and just want a rest.
