Ok for a night or two the double room with an ulstairs bedroom can get cold. Nice when hot outside. Self catering roon not well catered. Food in restuarant ok

Good night's rest. Just buy your own water before going here. The Protea Hotel Plattekloof (8km up the road, charges you R20/1.5lt Valpre still water) this Hotel charges you R16/250ml. Same group, same city, same day.

Stayed for 3 nights. Beautiful surroundings. Very open place. Rooms are divided into hall and bedroom.
Hall is with proper seating arrangement.
Parking available. Breakfast options were awesome and obviously tasty.
Staff is very friendly. Try some local wines available at the restaurant. Try Indian food, it is quite good.
Very near to some big companies.

Nice and quiet location
Away from everybody yet close to major shopping mall. Ideal I'd you a cycle enthusiast and love early morning bike drive. Popular among locals as there is provision made for park and ride.
Service is good with a nice restaurant for indoor or garden seating.
Ideal break away for the away from city bit still close to city.

Terrible service! First i hada booking and printed confirmation still could not find me on system and ended waiting for long for them to figure it out. Another incident is that my friend got kicked out from his room by the receptionist as according to the latter my friend was out all day and they assumed he wasn't there so they gave it to someone else and removed his luggage! It turned out to be a mistake but seriously how do u say that to a customer!!

The staff are always welcoming and its a great place to have a coffee and domains work. My family loves having lunch here too, because the food at the in house restaurant is superb.

Not such a great experience. The food was great and the breakfast staff were friendly. We checked in at 12.30, requested a cot for the room. They said it would be right up. Phoned front desk at 15.00 asking for the cot again they said someone would be right up with it. At 18.30 front desk called me and said that the cot was sent to the incorrect room and they would send it now. It only arrives at 19.00. the staff by the pool on Saturday afternoon were not very attentive and seemed irrigated by me going to the window and asking for service. The dishes from room service were taken out of the room and put outside the door. They only collected the dirty dishes with old food on a day later.

This morning, 17 Aug 2017, Hotel maintenance knocked on my hotel door around 6:30am asking if I have hot water?

We checked, and nothing.

I was told that they had a problem and that they were working on it.

I phone Reception about 5 times to request feedback – and nobody came back to me. I spoke to a lady from House Keeping when they wanted to come and clean the room. I also told her I do not have hot water and they need to resolve it.

A lady at the Reception desk told me that she will try to get me another room where I could have hot water to shower.

At about 9:10am I eventually spoke to a gentlemen by the name of Duane, I was told that there was a problem with 2 rooms (mine being one of them) and that the geyser kept on tripping the power. He then told me that the person from the other room had asked to be moved to another room for him to have hot water.

I then requested the same, thinking that after 5 previous phone calls they would have done the same.

I eventually checked out of the hotel this morning at 10:30 after a cold shower and no breakfast. Duane said that he arranged for the dining room to remain open for me to have breakfast, but I had to leave.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Durbanville Protea Hotel. The type of service offered by all the staff is consistent and superb at all times. The families accommodation facility was like at my own home.
If I visit Cape town again I will definitely book at this hotel again.

Very relaxing 4 day vacation. There is room for improvement, but my family and I enjoyed the bed & breakfast. Exquisite food, a communal pool and an open lounge with kind service wherever you may be in the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.
