I have just stayed at the Taj this past week. I stayed many times before ,but I must say the standards have dropped. We were seated at a table for breakfast after ,someone with kids dropped food on the floor and we were seated in this dirty spot. The staff do not remove your dirty crockery on time. Instead they were chatting in corners.The cappuccino had a burnt taste.The lounge had stale biscuits. I have been to many different Taj hotels before my stay was dispointing this time.The lounges in other hotels had lovely pastries and good quality snacks. I am not sure if I will return to the Taj cpt. The restaurant menu has been the same for years nothing has changed. There’s no attention to detail anymore. Even at turn down ,we did not even get a little chocolate . We were 4 people and was given x1 bottle of water ,I feel you pay for the attention to details and the brand name which we did not get this time.

Extremely amazing experience,spa first class. Rooms enormous. Will definitely recommend to everyone. Friendly and efficient staff. Felt like home,just better. I felt like a queen.

Taj Cape town is a beautiful hotel. Views of Table Mountain n Lion's head are excellent from their rooms. Excellent healthy breakfast. Staff is Courtois. Indian dinner can be relished at Bombay Brassiere. Very nice. Keep it up.

Stayed 10 nights.

Bad points first:

Initially given an 'upgrade' from our Mountain facing room to a building facing room which was bigger as our room was unavailable even though we had specifically requested a mountain facing room.

The room we got after this had issues with the Air con and subsequently so did the next room we were transferred to.

Good points: Once the air con problem was fixed it was smooth sailing.

Treated like royalty and never would I have expected to like cape town so much. I put much of it down to the service we received from Taj, from the front desk to the Mint Dining Room, could not fault a single person there.

The food from their in house restaurants or room service menu was decent.

The limo cars that Taj had basically covered every location you would want to visit within a 10km radius which saved us a lot in conveyance cost.

Big thank you to the Concierge team and the driver's there as they were extremely welcoming and had great tips about Cape Town.

Would recommend to anyone visiting cape town as location is very easy to get to and from long street / loop street etc.

The food and service are always great!! It is a 5 star hotel. It is a beautiful hotel. I have been a member of the hotel for many years. The hotel is very special to me. It is my happy place.

Really nice experience. The teas served are delicious and you have a large sorts of sweets to eat. Also they give you mini-sandwiches, samosas, quiches all of them delicious

Well firstly drove all the way out there in a taxi to visit a friend who had arrived same day and was told I couldn't visit as I didn't have my id. Totally blown awaythey wouldn't even accept just my id number. I totally understand the security behind it. But please they can judge for themselves too. Anywayotherwise nice hotel.

This is one amazing place to stay in Cape Town. The rooms are amazing, hospitality is wonderful, staff is super cordial and the food is simply outstanding. You wont miss not being in India if you are staying here. The shuttle services of the hotel to the key places is very helpful for people going for the first time.

I've been a member of the Taste By Taj group for 2 years in a row. I've kept my membership going simply because of how great the service is. I highly recommend the Taj hotel as place to stay over and to simply just work or have a meeting with a client or friend.

The Taj is a beautiful, high-end hotel in Cape Town. The service is great and the location is unbeatable. Just step outside and you are in the middle of town. The restaurant is nice and there is a great pool as well.

Great friendly staff, great location, and rooms are always clean. The taj also provides transportation for areas around the hotel which is very convenient.
