Mugg & Bean has always been a place of great coffee, wholesome food and comfort. It lends to a somewhat nostalgic vibe, which is both inviting and warm. Friendly and efficient service with warm smiles greet patrons at the door. The menu has been updated to provide for all tastes; vegetarian and vegan diets as well. Happy to report that the Ballito Mugg & Bean keeps the proud tradition of great coffee alive.
Tried M&B again after the last fiasco. Never did get a response to my last complaint using their electronic system. How can anyone mess up a breakfast? My wife's omelette was perfect, but I must be jinxed. After being asked how I wanted my fried eggs, they still did it their own way and gave me non runny yolks. The wors was dry as if it had been under a heater to keep it warm, and I had to ask for jam to go with the toast. Still, on the bright side they have daily newspapers you can read and free wifi and power points for the laptop if you select the right sesting
Enjoyable food from an extensive menu. Some healthy options. I like their "chicken 'n Mac" dish
Very disappointed with the service today. Sat doen for a quick coffee. 30min only received the coffee and then couldn't get a waiter to bring my bill. The first waiter that reacted ended up forgetting to bring the bill. The manager Siya did not think it was a to big problem when I told him their slow service took me over the hour and I had to pay parking. Do go there if you want to go for a quick coffee.
We were very unhappy with the service we received today. Stopped for a quick cup of coffee after a movie and it ended up taking 45 minutes 1 frulata and 1 cappuccino. The Mugg&Bean was not overly busy, we would have understood the delay if they were. The drinks themselves were great but we waited for service every step of the way. The manager, Siya, was very unhelpful. Would not recommend to anyone who isn't completely relaxed and comfortable with waiting for ages to be served.
Service isn't always the best, but the food is generally the same at all mugg & beans. Thus far we've quite enjoyed their vegetarian options and definitely enjoyed their drinks, warm and cold.
Delicious food. Went for breakfast and was difficult to choose everything looked delicious. Place is quite busy in mornings which is a good sign. Very slow service though
Good food. Good service and great coffee.
Food good. Service ok. We were squashed in wish they stayed open later
Food is excellent, as in all Mugg and Bean's. It is not open in the evenings unfortunately. Does get extremely busy during lunch time.
Saturday lunch is very busy
Waitress seem overloaded but trying their best
The cakes were really fresh and tasty
Love that u can also use zapper
Great Service, Awesome Scenery, Just of The Chain
(THUMBS UP !!!)
Absolutely disgraceful..
We were a table of 8, arrived at 11:30, took 15 minutes to get menus and service, thereafter it was just a continual stream of extraordinarily poor service and baffling levels of stupidity. it actually got to a stage where we had to write down our own order and go place it ourselves
Absolutely no communication by the waitress on the long delays, manager was non existent until the very end where we were all literally at boiling point with anger and frustration.
The wait for the food was ridiculous and took an hour to arrive, again not knowing what the delay was occasioned by. When the food did eventually arrive It was in bits and pieces, was bland and tasteless.
We asked for tomato sauce, which took a further 5 minutes to arrive, and when it did, there was enough in the bottle for one person, meant sending it back, waiting again for another bottle, whilst our food got steadily colder in total, we have all just lost 2 hours of our lives which we can never get back. the worst experience in the history of dining!!!!!
Undoubtedly the worst restaurant I have EVER been to and will certainly NEVER return to!
Mug and bean as a chain need to sort this place out as a matter of urgency!
The quesadillas were good, spicey and pricey. Potato chips (fries) side plate is very pricey and very small. Ask 2 kids who finished their kiddy plates first and then asked dad for more. They did not even get cutlery or serviettes (napkins) for round two. The restaurant brought tomato sauce, HP Sauce and vinegar on request.
